Whoevers responsible for us not getting a new dm and cm is frankly incompetent. The last game of the season we were played off the park by an OK side, the average fan could see what we needed so there's no excuse.

A word to the wise old bean; when you find yourself endorsing one of funnneeeeee's crackpot pronouncements it's probably time to reassess your brain.

You obviously fantasize about gobbling on my fat dumpling balls. PM me.

I think anyone expecting massive improvement from players that performed pretty lamentably last year may be heading for further disappointment.

At least Allen has fucked off and Sakho is out of favour.  You should be grateful for small mercies.

Frank mate, please stop quoting him. Better yet, stop reading him ;)

How about you and others who have such a problem stop spamming every thread with comments saying ignore him etc, better yet talk about football or LFC.

Had no idea of the score until about 5 minutes ago but a 2-1 defeat to Roma after a 2-0 victory over AC Milan plus a 1-0 defeat by Chelsea sounds pretty much ok for pre season friendlies designed mainly for fitness. I'm sure loads of different players have had a run out so consistency will always be a problem.

I can't even be arsed watching the highlights to be honest,

Moreno got injured I believe so from having one shit LB we now have none i  suppose is the upshot, Klopp is going have to be a world champion turd polisher if this season isn't to end in more humiliation. It's now August an I'm in panic mode about our failure to strengthen the defense, What was shit last season now looks weaker still, Selling average players which at least could give some cover and having half the average players to start the next season doesn't strike me as good business. Buying some good defenders might have been a better strategy. Fucking nuts

Makes a valid point though. Should act as a warning. All it takes is a knock and we have no LB. If we're very very lucky, wel'll have an impossibly shit LB all season.

I'd play Milner over him anyway, at least Milner has some positional sense. Your point stands though, we desperately need another.

Yes this Mane speed thing is going to be a problem. I can think of only Sturridge and maybe Ojo and Ejaria (now injured) who even come close. Which means that if we're looking at fast counter attacks, there isn't much likelihood of Mane having the support he needs and we won't be taking advantage of those opportunities.

    • I don't even think the drop-off in midfield has been that big, the midfield was pedestrian as fuck last year as well. There were loads of direct passes trying to get in behind the Mancs' defence on Sunday, especially in the first half. The real problems are Mane looks like he's dropped a yard of pace, Salah's touch has deserted him and Bobby has taken over Wijnaldum's old invisible man tribute act, and Jota is injured. That plus Trent looking like we've put the mascot on the pitch at the moment, we're always going to struggle.   Said it in the transfer window thread, but I think time's up for at least one possibly two of the front three this summer, presuming of course anyone is actually interested.
    • Klopp has been incredibly loyal to his starting players throughout his entire time here. Even when he first joined and most of them were fucking shite.
    • Comes back to Gomez and Virg being crocked imo. If we had Fab and Hendo in midfield it would improve things but nevertheless our forwards are a shadow of last season even with poorer service from midfield.  The whole team to some degree is compensating for our CBs being out.
    • Jesus, shifting blame?   It was something that annoyed me during the game, as a midfielder you would think Hendo would be able to perform this exact part of a CB’s game a bit better, Matip would do it and Van Dijk would do it. Gomez not so much, he lack the skill to do it.
Go back to Liverpool-Chelsea game in 13/14, everyone blame Gertard for slipping, I did not. I pointed at Sakho, simply because he should have brought the ball with him 3-4 m forward into open space and by that bypassed  Chelsea’s first line.   Again, at the time I said Agger would do that, now I say that both Van Dijk and Matip would do that instead of playing it back to Alisson as much as Hendo did. By doing that we outnumber the opposition, by doing what Hendo did, we give them time to organize and get everyone behind the ball.   Like I said, Hendo did his job defensively, but there are a lot more to football than what you actually watch happening in front of you.   Maybe I put too much expectations on him because he’s a midfielder, but this is certainly the standard we need.

    • Pretty much nonsense. I agree that a lot of footballers have nipped off to Dubai in the last few months(VVD is ther currently,or has been recently hasn't he?) But he is a long term injury so is training alone. Leaving your country for anything other than a competitive match, and I am dead set against even that personally,is just pure stupidity. It has nothing to do with politics and even a moron should know this.  Sounds like a desparate man trying to deflect attention from the shitty job he is doing.
