The only thing worse than watching Paletta trying to run, is looking at his haircut.

He mustn't have a razor in his house as he's still rocking the egg in the nest look no baldy has had since the 80s. Just shave it all off, you big goon.

I know we like to pretend that Sterling is shit but Ojo will never be a better player than Sterling.

I agree with this. I don't mind people slating Sterling, because he was a greedy prick and deserves it. And he was total shite for City and sometimes such a big loss of confidence is hard to come back from but i think Pep will get more out of him.

As for Ojo, i just don't see what other people in this thread saw today. He is quick and strong but his decision making is just as bad as Ibe's. He shoots from stupid positions and his vision for a pass is quite poor. He also has to completely slow down his marker before then speeding up to take him on.

I know he's only 19 and i hope im wrong but i just don't see him becoming a top player for Liverpool.

Haha Howie, very true!

Watched it live mate with eyes closing every two seconds due to lack of sleep. It seemed that way without the benefit of action replay.

You can't argue with the pace he showed tho.

Yea, i watched it this morning with the same tired eyes mate so maybe im being too harsh on Ojo.

His pace is great, he has attributes (even over streling, like his strength and size) and he will cause teams problems but i fear he will be one of those players that wastes more chances than he creates or scores from. He will help us stretch teams, no doubt, and will help us get into dangerous positions but time will tell if he actually turns that into goals or chances. I just don't see it right now.

I also think Mane will be a good player for us but his passing needs to improve a lot. He is snatching at chances but hope fully that is just nerves/rustiness. But his pace and dribbling gets himself out of tight positions really well and will help us build up attacks and keep us going forwards. He will be a good player for us and maybe even a great player if his passing can improve

Looked to me as though Wijnaldum started next to Henderson in a midfield 2 (bloody hard to tell who is who in that kit though, especially when we attack!) and he seemed to struggle. Was quite anonymous in the first half and seemed to be chasing shadows when they had the ball.

I like Klavan, he brings balance, doesnt shit himself on the ball and can tackle. Will be interesting to see him up against some real pace and how he copes but for 4 million quid and for our 4th choice CB i think that was some very smart business. He can't be slower than Kolo and as shit as Skrtel anyway.

I think it will take the new boys a while to settle in and understand Klopps methods, especially the midfielders and forwards. Often, with our pressing style, players end up in different positions than they are used to. Seems like some of them may take some time to adapt to this.

Henderson first half (does him no favours that role, he can't do it and the whole team were a bit rushed/exposed when making challenges as a result). Then Stewart in the second half. He did really well I thought. Henderson also improved when moved up into a central role.

I disagree with Pidge, thought Hendo did pretty well in the holding role and would prefer to see him in that role with Emre and Wijnaldum both more advanced in our probable midfield 3.

I just think that Can and Wjnaldum both possess far more creativity than the limited Henderson.

I thought he did ok defensively which I wasn't expecting, but his limitations on the ball were apparent and our build-up play suffered because of it. The problem with Henderson is that he's a bit pointless. We have a better option than Henderson in every midfield role. Wijnaldum is better in the advanced role, Milner is better box-to-box and Can is better in the holding role.

Henderson is by far the most creative of those three. Wijnaldum is the best with the ball at his feet and Can is good at carrying it from deep, but you need Henderson in a position to deliver the final ball. Neither of those two would trouble 10 assists from centre mid, a fit Henderson would.

Defensively, he just doesn't have the experience of making the right moves to keep a strong shape and put pressure on the attacker, as a result the onus falls to the man tracking back to make a challenge. The ref made it worse by calling a series of bullshit fouls, but that's still a result of not having a specialist defender in that role. It's dirty work and Henderson is much more comfortable being the help defender, rather than the DM. It's not about making tackles it's about making the right decisions and either Can or a specialist (or going with Can and Henderson behind wijnaldum) would be better for me.
