We are going to miss Ginis unbelievable ball retention and quick feet the lad was a master of keeping hold of the ball in tight spaces plus his injury record. We are weaker without him and the club really needs to pull a very good midfielder out of the bag to address him going.

100% bang on. The only thing he really lacked was goals. Would love Tielemans to replace him

He's won everything he was going to win here, so you can't knock a person for wanting a fresh challenge. Nevertheless, the whole thing does rather smack of us playing silly buggers over what is, in the scheme of things, poxy money.

If we had a squad of players in their mid 20s with long contracts you would have a point. We have 6 or 7 lads about to be where Gini was this time last year. Rightly or wrongly they now know when we make a final offer its a final offer. Utd got absolutely rode by DeGea,  Arsenal got done by Sanchez, Ozil and Aubameyang, we're right not to put ourselves in that position over anyone bar fully back up to speed Virgil.

The Mancs are in talks to offer Pogba a new contract as well despite him doing the square root of fuck all since he re-signed for them. I imagine that won’t come cheap with that leech of an agent he has.

Good points, plus I think Gini would have commanded a huge signing on fee tax free so he would have wanted that factored in.

They have to though - even though he is shite someone would pay 60-80 mil for him.

Wiji is not in that boat.
