Shearer showered his performance against Chelsea with praise on MotD on Saturday night.  Not that it's much of an endorsement.  He's still finding his feet a bit, hopefully the sign that he's really settling will be when he starts to find the back of the net.

I like what I've seen so far, let Klopp do his thing and see how he develops.

Played well tonight. Nice first time pass to set up Sturridge for his second. Moves the ball intelligently. Quietly effective again. Another one no one could see the fucking point in signing. Except Klopp. Fucking love having a world class manager.

He's a good player and we play better as a collective with him on the pitch. That said, individually, his performances can still really improve and I think it's one of those situations where if we weren't doing so well people would be questioning his performances.

When he walks into a room none of the men even notice him. He is straight off into the corner with the fine muchachas saying stuff softly enough so they lean in to hear him. - as if they need an excuse.

I like him.

 

Helps us play quickly through midfield. Really impressive at getting the ball facing our goal or on the half turn and beating the oppositions midfield press with a quick turn and a little surge of powerful running. This helps open up the game, gives him open space to run into.

 

He's also surprisingly strong at holding off opposition players.

 

I liked the little Ronaldo style punchy free kick over the wall too. Give him a few more, see what he can do as our set piece conversion is fairly woeful.
