Dynamite who follows the youth team(s) reckons Trent Alexander-Arnold is a gem... So I think we should be okay on that side. Clyne played LB a couple of times and did well enough, so perhaps Randall at RB and Clyne at LB isn't too disastrous?

I don't think clyne is as good at left back, so when Moreno is injured you're weakening clyne's contribution and then bringing in someone weak and/or inexperienced at right back. Having said that clyne is probably a better left back than moreno.

Clyne is the best full back in the country. We shouldn't be moving him out of his best position to accommodate our recruitment failures.

And agreed. Moving Clyne to left back is a silly plan. We're getting attacked on that left side of defence every match... I'd imagine we will plan for it.

I would love this to be true, but it isn't.

He doesn't need to improve to be better than Moreno.

He needs to play to get back to where he was two years ago before his injury. I thought he was pretty poor, understandably, in most of his appearances last year. He's way behind Moreno at the moment and it's in his best interests to go somewhere where he's going to get 30+ Premier League run outs. Hopefully he will return as a better player and a useful asset.

We can't be making excuses for them saying Milner will do just fine at LB etc. If we fail to bring in any cover (never mind replacing the disastrous Moreno), it will be mong logic on the level of loaning out Carroll and then failing in our last minute bid to sign Clint fucking Dempsey, leaving us with only one fit striker.
