Transfers summer 2016

That's on Klopp as he obviously hasn't shared your, or many on here's, view that we need an expensive replacement for Moreno.

If we'd have spent 10 million on Chillwell we'd still have been no better off.

Expensive? I doubt anyone gives a fuck whether our imaginary new back was expensive or not, as long as he'd improve our starting XI.

Laughable that anyone is making a case that the manager wouldn't want a left back if he had the funds, when he's dropped our sole retarded left back for a right sided midfielder at the first opportunity possible this season.

If he was still playing Moreno, you could at least make the case that he might see something in him.   Milner's nothing but a square peg in a round hole to keep the car crash waiting to happen away from the first XI.

Even with Moreno, we still needed a left back and a right back or at the very least someone to cover both sides this summer.

Funnneeeee always starts the season dead positive. A few months, and some turd results, down the line and sure as eggs are eggs, he'll turn on the manager.

This is true, Tony, but you have to admit this year's crop of magic mushrooms is possibly the best harvest yet.

If we had a mass of injuries at full back, then you could understand Milner playing there.

But the fact that we've let Flanno and Smith go, been after Chilwell all summer and then did fuck all since that deal went dead.

If Moreno is shit enough not to start ahead of Milner, why haven't we sold him?

Are there no other capable left backs in the whole fucking world that we could look to sign?

It's just bizarre as fuck.

Anyone know when Gomez is back?

He had the funds to buy a left back and decided to pursue younger players as back up for the position instead.

Despite the increased clamour for a left back, including in the media, he's shown no interest in replacing Moreno outright but has taken him out of the spotlight by playing Milner instead.

We clearly have money available yet he isn't trying to sign a replacement which suggests, for the mean time at least, he has no interest in getting rid of him.

Something that's being overlooked a bit in the whole Milner at left back situation is that Klopp seems to wants Milner in the team - he's experienced, he takes the penalties, for example - but there isn't an obvious role for him elsewhere. Perhaps there's an element of finding a place for Milner involved too. Whether that's a valid strategy is questionable too mind you

I think that's a big part of it.

He'll cover right back as well.

Im just filled with fear whenever I see moreno in the team. You just know he's one kick away from a pen or a free kick in a dangerous position. That's if he hasnt gone awol on one of the oppos attack.

I really cant get my head around Klopp's actions on this. He dropped his first choice LB after that arsenal show for a right footed midfielder. Im not convince he's been told he has no money to buy a replacement either. Mysterious.

A fair point, Henderson taking pens is asking for trouble,

All in all though its been a totally bizarre window and I am finding it hard to summon up much enthusiasm for the season given the glaring deficiencies that have been left un-addressed .

We are, we signed Mane in the same position and are looking at one of those to develop behind them.

I wasn't specifically referring to the position those two play in. My point was a wider one in that we should be addressing areas of weakness in the first team rather than spending 10m on a young player for a position we're already well stocked in.
