It's no good going from half a season boasting about how we finally have competition for places up top to a new season when we're two strikers short. If we've lost Mane and Origi, then we need to replace them both, not spend the summer saying how good Diaz will get next year. Otherwise we'll be back to being far too over-reliant on the front three, but now with one or two of them running down his contract and Jota oscillating between famines and feasts.

Same as it ever was as far as the purse string holders are concerned, Klopp is the one who adds the fairy dust.

Same with Wenger at Arsenal, which is how I see the remainder of Klopp’s tenure going if FSG decide that January 2021 rather than Summer 2018 is the model to be followed.

Was always going to happen with all the noise last week. People always try to convince themselves that when players wont say anything its because the players are focusing on an important game, etc but its always the same. They dont say anything because its negative and dont want to disrupt the team. If it was positive they wouldn't have an issue announcing something.

When was the last time regular title contenders had important regulars looking to make sideways steps to inferior leagues? Didn’t happen at Man Utd or Chelsea, doesn’t happen at City. You could understand when Real and Barcelona were undisputedly the biggest fish in the best league, but this, when combined with the Salah situation, doesn’t suggest a club in the healthiest state.

To be honest, I’m surprised we kept our ‘front three’ together for so long. Covid probably helped in that regard.

Wonder if we’ll look at Bowen again?

Sadio has been immense for us, and not always fully appreciated. Great footballer.

Disappointing but (cliche alert) nobody is bigger than the club.

We’ll hopefully bring in a capable replacement. As we’d be a bit short in attacking options with Mané, Origi and Minamino (probably) leaving at the same time.

I’d like to see a more orthodox type striker brought in. Nunez was impressive against us, so I’d have him on the shortlist.

It’s Bayern Munich he’s linked to, not Linfield or St Mirren.

Hazard? Courtois? Sane?

I love Sadio but there's no way on earth that Klopp hasn't thought this out and already got an idea of who he wants to bring in to replace him. We may not have even had serious contract talks with Sadio due to the 3 strikers around 30 yrs old thing.

Gutted if he goes but would be far more gutted if Jurgen hadn't committed to another 4 years. He's already on this.
