Salah is the best forward in the league, its not even up for debate.

When Salah is out we struggle 3/4 times, even if he is just subbed we see a drop off in our performance straight away.

He scores more, he assists more and he creates more than Mane. He also gives the other players more space just by being on the pitch.

Klopp said it pretty well before the Palace game, Salah makes the pitch bigger for us.

Salah is the best player in the league.

Yeah Salah is the better forward of the two. He’s definitely a more natural striker, you can see it from his movements. Sadio is the better winger/midfielder, as he’s the better dribbler and he runs back harder and more willingly than Mo. Brilliant that we have both.

It’s a little bit banal to choose between the two. I’d wager they’re the best winger/wide-forward pairing in the history of club football. Audacious? Maybe. But can’t think of another 2 who have ever been as productive as these two while offering the same level of work rate & points return for their side over such a sustained period of time. Insane pair of footballers. The clown posse of goalkeepers who preceded and deputised for Alisson should be ashamed for having let these two down in Europe.

Certainly up there. Other obvious candidates:

1. Ribery Robben

2. Neymar Messi

3. Ronaldo Bale

He's our 4th best player.

Mane has been better this season.  You can pull as many stats out of your arse as you want.  Just watch the game.  Of course we struggle when Salah is out because he’s world class but we struggle just as much if not more when Mane isn’t there.  He’s more two footed and tends to be the guy to break the deadlock in tough games whether it’s him scoring or getting wide and going to the byline to create the chance.  Over the course of both their careers at Liverpool I don’t think there’s anything in it between them.

Jesus christ, no nothing between them at all, apart from 33 goals and 15 assists in three seasons.

Since 17/18.

Salah:

Games: 134

Goals: 90

Assists: 33

Mane:

Games: 125

Goals: 57

Assists: 18

Mane came here and basically carried us to the champions league which then brought in the better players.  Without him coming here originally we may not have seen Salah or the players that followed so quickly.  That equals the achievement of the 32 goal season from Salah for me and was more important for the club.

Salah benefits from Mane in a way that Mane doesn’t benefit from Salah.  Just use your eyes instead of a spreadsheet and you can see it every game.  Salah will probably always score more goals than Mane and in part it’s because he’s more greedy.  It doesn’t mean he’s a better player or is more important at all.  Mane tends to score and create more important goals than Salah because he’s better at playing against deeper defences than him.  They’ve also gone toe to toe in goals the past two seasons which funnily enough has coincided with Salah passing the ball more.

I don’t know if this has been posted elsewhere but the AFCON is postponed next year so we won’t lose Mane and Salah!  Great news.

It really is.

Difference between a proper run at trying to win back to back titles and a top 4 spot IMO

Good points. My own ignorance but I'd always considered Neymar, Messi & Ronaldo (at least when he played with Benzema) to be more "false 9" players or at least ones that do most of their work drifting in centrally. Coudl be wrong though. Ribery & Robben are the obvious pair as you say; I think Mane & Salah are better than both.

They perform different roles for the team though, Salah is given far more attacking license than mane, so it's unsurprising his numbers are better. As another poster said, they're both world class, there's no need to choose between them. We'd be fucked without either of them as we have nothing close to them in reserve.

Your lack of football knowledge is amusing.

The fact that you haven't been banned for chatting so much shite is amusing.

(I'm not referring to a Salah/Mane debate, I think they are both ace)

The  problem at the time was that people could not handle the truth, the truth about Mignolet and Rodgers both being extremely shite.

Now its the popular opinion.
