There’s no good deal. That’s a given. There’s no ‘jobs for the north’ deal

Swallow your pride and just admit it.

Have you got me mixed up with someone else? I voted to remain and I would again.

I agree there’s no good deal but I’m sure that, given the chance, whatever Labour came back with would be less damaging than May’s deal. A ‘different’ deal with a referendum on it makes perfect sense. I also think that leaving with a deal would beat remain anyway because of how entrenched people are, but at the very least it would be damage limitation.

I take it a staunch remainer such as yourself will be voting for the Lib Dems if we have an election before we’ve crashed out?

You’re sure? Based on what? The fact you like Labour? Seems dumb to me. It’s the same fairy tale confidence that Tories thought Boris would get a better deal than May. Pure bollocks.

Id vote for Labour (as I don’t live in Corbyns constituency) if he came out fully Remain. I’ve said that many times.

(Hopefully this post doesn’t warrant me leaving the forum as it offends you)

Which part of it was meant to offend me?

Typo - meant ‘if’ - you still want me gone though?

You’ve never been told to fuck off before? Did it offend you? Fuck off.

Seriously though, do you not think Labour have had informal chats with the EU top brass? It’s been reported that they’ve been over to Brussels, hasn’t it? What they’ve said in public and I assume they’re proposing (softer Brexit, customs union, etc) is surely much more palatable all round. Is that not one of the reasons the EU are happy to keep delaying?

The government is blatantly doing fuck all except try to run the clock down and leave without a deal. I get that people don’t like Labour/Corbyn/Whatever but we need to try something different.

You’ll have to elaborate.  It’s very late for me.

What are you on about?

I think it is time to stop pretending anyone from Britain is dictating the terms of Brexit -- they (Germany) have already made up their minds. You lot are being escorted out - Johnson or not.

I just used Rico as a dummy here - no pun intended.

‘Would secure a sensible deal’

i think you’ve been clear there is no sensible deal.

Any deal would leave us worse off than remaining. That doesn't mean it's sensible to pretend that the 17.4 million people who voted to leave don't exist.

I've also been clear that, for example, there's nothing sensible about the Monarchy, but I wouldn't advocate binning the Windsors until there's a majority in favour of republicanism.

It's more about red lines than red rosettes. May's proposals (I don't think Johnson even has any yet) were based on a deal that ruled out any customs union and  barred any forrins who weren't rich - and to hell with people's rights and peace in Ireland. Labour's starting position is totally different.  And unlike Johnson, Corbyn, Thornberry and Starmer are respected in the EU and their proposals have been well received. There's nothing "fairy tale" about it.

I think Lab's current position is nuts and fear it'll be a big vote loser. It'll piss off the Remainers and the Leavers  and as most of the members and the MPs are on the Remain side makes little sense.

Hope I'm wrong, obviously

It'll piss off the Remainers by giving them their only chance of a second referendum?

It'll piss off the Leavers by giving them their only chance of leaving with a deal?

It's the only remotely sensible position.

I think it's probably the most democratic position, too. You still want to leave Europe? You can have it. Changed your mind about Brexit? You can do it. Want more say now you've got more information? No worries, we've got your back. More choice, more democracy, all while avoiding a very damaging no-deal Brexit that nobody did or could vote for (though some might have) in the referendum. The way the referendum was held was what really fucked us. Hard.

If Labour are going to go with that policy at a GE they need to be able to sell it a damn sight better than they are at the moment.

Trying to explain a complex policy position on the likes of QT or in an interview where you have intelligent journalists deliberately pretending they don’t understand the policy is going to cost votes.

Unfortunately simple soundbites like strong and stable, Brexit means Brexit, clean break etc work even if they mean fuck all!

Negotiate a deal and have a guaranteed vote on either leave with that deal or remain, is not complicated IMO.

Where the party stands will be decided at conference and individuals will be able to vote as their conscience decides, once they have seen the deal.

It is only the "intelligent" journalists saying it is confusing because they have an agenda.

The Tories negotiated a deal, yet Tories voted against that deal, some are already saying whatever deal Johnson comes back with, they will vote against, yet this is not complicated at all.

The Labour initiative is sensible. The chance for people to make a fully informed choice can't be in any way a bad thing.

Of course the media will sell it in their usual anti-Corbyn/Labour way, so people will have to look beyond the headlines and educate themselves. I know, wishful thinking.

It’s just common sense really. The EU top brass already said Labours plan was sensible, it’s obviously guaranteed to be better for working people and families than anything the tories are offering up.

(PS - I’d love the analysis of the time taken for Moof to neg my posts. He’s either a bot, a stalker or a complete cunt.  Or not real...)

You could just try making better posts, then I wouldn’t have to neg you so often. I will admit it does take a significant chunk out of my day so you’d be doing me a favour as well as yourself and anyone else unfortunate enough to read the drivel you write.
