Recognising the state of Palestine would be anti-semitic.

Uri Avnery in the past has been guilty of comping the act of Israel to Nazi, which is now an anti-semitic act.

I will tell you something about the Holocaust. It would be nice to believe that people who have undergone suffering have been purified by suffering. But it’s the opposite, it makes them worse. It corrupts. There is something in suffering that creates a kind of egoism. Herzog [the Israeli president at the time] was speaking at the site of the concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen but he spoke only about the Jews. How could he not mention that others – many others – had suffered there? Sick people, when they are in pain, cannot speak about anyone but themselves. And when such monstrous things have happened to your people, you feel nothing can be compared to it. You get a moral ‘power of attorney’, a permit to do anything you want – because nothing can compare to what has happened to us. This is a moral immunity which is very clearly felt in Israel. Everyone is convinced that the IDF is more humane than any other army. ‘Purity of arms’ was the slogan of the Haganah army in ’48. But it never was true at all.”

So, somebody he has quoted, a Jewish man, said something in the past that would now be considered by some people as anti-semitic? Is that the charge against Corbyn?

Little does he know, the quote Ardja just quoted from you will be racist in 3 weeks, making ardja a big ol' racist.

I was just putting it out there.. as only last week he was accused of committing another anti-semitic act for much less i.e. using the word “threat” liberally. Was it the wisest move from Corbyn to quote someone who’s said something now considered as anti-semitic in public?

I've no issue with anything there, at all. Mainly because it's not antisemitic, doesn't have anything to do with Jews, and he quotes something entirely reasonable. I think a more important question is 'can this credibly called antisemitic'. The answer is clearly no.

What a shithouse post, from a shithouse poster, who plays victim card straight after making incendiary posts.

What's incendiary about applauding the Labour leader for calling for a two state solution? You're an absolute lunatic.

I haven't seen much of Corbyn's conference speech, but it's good that most of the analysis after it seems to be about the substance of what he said, rather than him making a totally embarrassing fuck up of his big lines, a la Mr. Exotic Spresm.

Dangerous making bold statements on Palestinian recognition though, what with the Mossad murder squads eavesdropping. Needs to watch his back now.

Apparently Ernest Jones, the poet whose poem Corbyn quoted was an anti-semite. I’m predicting a difficult couple of days coming up for him.

To be fair a lot of white people in the 19th century were massive racists. You'll be hard pressed not to read or quote something that isn't attributable to a unsavoury character.

I particularly hate myself for enjoying the live action Jungle Book from that renowned racist Rudyard Kipling along with his cakes.

All the papers and channels will no doubt be spending as much time apologising as they did post falsehoods.

No doubt the news outlets will realise the error of their ways and never jump on an agenda driven bandwagon again.

As an aside, I have just bought some magic beans and look forward to the results.

Kezia Dugdale says that Labour is untrustworthy, because they've broken their promise to fund her defence when she's been accused of defamation.

... except, that's not really what happened.
