Whenever he crops up on the telly, have you ever heard anyone say "Waddaguy! He's who we need right now"?

Or is the response more likely to be "Fucking hell, not this cunt again"?

I think the fact that the only person on here flying the flag for the war criminal is someone who would happily see the Labour Party crash and burn tells its own story.

I've no doubt that he's unpopular with a great many people. But you are wildly exaggerating when you say it's "almost universal".

I think you're a bit confused too if you think I'm flying the flag for Blair. The last thing I want is to see him return. I was just pointing out that he would wipe the floor with Boris Johnson in an election.

I was in draft mode, I thought you meant peak Tony Blair! but you honestly think that 2019 Tony Blair could win an election, without media support and on a remain platform?

it would be almost as big a wipeout as Clegg in 2015!

That's one perspective. Here's Jeremy Hunt with another..

“When I went to Auschwitz I rather complacently said to myself, ‘thank goodness we don’t have to worry about that kind of thing in the UK’ and now I find myself faced with the leader of Labour who has opened the door to antisemitism”

The Guardian posting shit as per usual.

At least the right-wing papers are straight up with their anti-Corbyn agenda , this piece of shit is just drip drip with exaggerated bollocks or upper middle-class twats like Rentoul & Toynbee giving Corbyn ' advice'.

Basically one blert sending an email that is not constitutionally viable transforms into the hysterical headline

Labour MP faces deselection threat over Chris Williamson criticism

London MP Ellie Reeves backed calls for Williamson to lose party whip in antisemitism row

A pregnant Labour MP is facing the threat of a motion of no confidence in her constituency after she signed a statement criticising her party’s decision to readmit Chris Williamson.

Ellie Reeves was one of 121 MPs and peers who backed calls for the Labourleader, Jeremy Corbyn, to immediately remove the whip from the backbencher, who had been suspended in February for suggesting the party was “too apologetic” about antisemitism.

Williamson was readmitted last Wednesday by a national executive panel that ruled he should only be reprimanded, although on Friday he was suspended again following a backlash that included the letter signed by Reeves and the deputy leader, Tom Watson, among others.

Now, the constituency Labour party chairman in her Lewisham West and Penge constituency, John Clark, has reportedly received an email from a member who has requested a motion of no confidence in Reeves, who has been MP for the south-east London seat since 2017

According to the website PoliticsHome, the email said: “I would like to put forward a motion of no confidence in Ellie Reeves our MP for signing Tom Watson MP letter regarding Chris Williamson MP at our next meeting and also start the new trigger process to deselect our MP which you should have received from Jennie Formby.”

Reeves, who is 22 weeks pregnant, thanked Labour members for their support on social media after the news broke.

Miriam Mirwitch, the chair of Young Labour, said on Twitter: “MPs who are pregnant or on maternity leave should be automatically reselected. It’s wrong when bosses sack workers who are pregnant or on maternity leave. The same applies to MPs.”

Such a motion would not be able to begin the re-selection process, given that a trigger ballot can only be forced if the move has the support of a third of local party branches or affiliated trade union branches.

It is understood the move would not take place in any case while an MP is on maternity leave.

Jonathan Ashworth, the shadow health secretary, said on Twitter: “My friend Ellie Reeves is a socialist, an ex-trade union lawyer who fought against injustices for working-class people. She’s campaigned against oppression internationally, eg trade unionists in Colombia for years. An excellent MP. Ludicrous no-confidence motion should be binned.”

Plans to remove Williamson himself as the Labour candidate for his constituency are also being pursued by local party activists, the Observer reported.

A Labour party source said: “No motion has been formally moved or tabled. And in any case, motions of no-confidence have no formal standing and do not result in trigger ballots. Any MP who is on parental leave will not undergo reselection processes until they return from leave.”

Jesus.

If you've got a point to make, please make it (preferably backed with evidence).

Billy Bragg has stated he’s against CW being readmitted, thinks he’s been AS. JC supporters now turning on BB. Eating themselves.

It is also shocking that the same people who are outraged by the above process, i.e. party democracy, are openly encouraging for the deselection of a sitting MP in CW.

It is like they are acting out double standards, almost like they have an agenda.
