The Thin Red Line

Love the look of it and the cast, as well the refusal to glorify the dirty mess of humans killing each other over dirt.

The change of expression that comes over Nick Nolte's face when the platoon commander refuses to carry out his order is one of the finest split seconds of acting I have ever seen.

White Tiger and Come and See would be a hell of a WW2 film double bill.

Has The Victors had a mention? Large cast including George Peppard.

Probably the closest I’ve seen to something like the World at war documentaries.
It is incredibly grim.

There are a few scenes which have stuck with me, I won’t mention any so as not to spoil it for those who’ve never seen it.
It is a very very good film.

It's a brilliant film. That whole scene where they are taking out the Japanese encampment at the top of the hill is stunning.

I don't know, one with Harry Andrews in to lend a helping hand, The Hill, not a war film as such, id say Das Boot, Attack The Cruel Sea, there's a few

The Hill is a fabulous film. Attack I have seen a few times and is also fabulous.
