TBH what else can they do?

There is zero chance of Zidane so what next? Another re-tread (Conte can you hear me?) would end up pretty similarly imo.

True, I'm just hoping they're balls deep in their sunk cost fallacy and will continue pouring money down the drain.

Hope they pay Spurs  £100m for Harry Kane then Mourinho drops him to the bench after he doesn't score for ages and wants to fuck off to PSG.

£100m only gets you a Lukaku you have to double it for Kane.

Hope they blow the lot on one player who will then be wanting parity with Sanchez for wages. Then so will pogba, then so will De Gea.

It really is like looking back at us in the early 90's. Their success isn't very far being them, they are spending plenty but they haven't yet realised that you need to have a coherent plan in place to take you forward not spend like a sailor in a Thai brothel.

Only Mourinho could spend shitloads on Lukaku and Sanchez then moan that his team has no firepower.

Or £70m on centre backs and then start playing midfielders there to "send a message" to the board.

Anyone would think he's just bought a load of shite, played dreadful football that none of the players understand or want to play, and is now trying to absolve himself of all blame.

It's quite unlike him.

Yeah, I like the thought of them buying Maguire. Put him alongside Phil Jones, and we could let Lallana have a couple of games. With his blistering pace he’d be unstoppable. Our own Red Usain Bolt. Even his hair cut would look good in comparison.

Why on earth has a January budget come out in the news in October?

You'd think things weren't quite right at the club or something...

Haven't Real Madrid just sacked their manager? Here's £100m Jose, please don't leave.

Yeah, the only thing that makes me doubt this theory is it would be so out of character and without precedent in any of his previous jobs.

There isn't a superstar on the planet that wouldn't want to come to a mid table turgid Manchester United to get lobbed under a bus by miserable Mourinho.

I don't know about that. They'll definitely find a 30 year-old megastar on the decline who will agree to come if they give him £ 250k/week for 4-5 years. Mourinho won't care - he knows he'll be long gone by the time the really stupid part of that contract comes back to bite them on the backside.

It's a good thing they're being run so incompetently because right now it's the only thing allowing us to put clear daylight between their team and ours, with all the money they can spend.

Even Real aren't that stupid, are they?

The leading candidate for the Real Madrid job is now ... Roberto Martinez, believe it or not. So yeah, however stupid you think they are, you can multiply it by 10 and it's probably still not enough.
