Not sure what he's done wrong.

He hasn't per-se, but the mancs need a focal point of blame, someone who is easily identifiable and sits easily with the masses.

Now, if you said to a load of mancs that the root cause of all of this is Ferguson - and his final years and his self ingratiated want of him to finish with another CL win( we all saw how bad he took the sending off against Real at home). The numerous number two's that have fell by the way side(one who is now good enough to be next to Guardiola), and who were all, well, just not Alex Ferguson and the fact he new it was coming to an end but rather taking the big hit and starting a root and branch exercise back then, he went into full me, me, me mode -  Now tell that to a manc and they'd cry jealousy and call bitterness by a Liverpool fan besmirching the haloed name of Ferguson.

But fuck'em, let them live in the Moyes, LVG, Woodward et al, world of blame.

Lets not forget here as well, this is the same group of lilly-livered shitehawk fans, a few years back who started of a green and gold campaign to epitomise 'their struggle' and then let the club grab it and market it and then they all went the club shop and bought the top!

They and their haloed ex-manager are reaping what they sowed and long may it continue.

We all blame Souness for our demise yet by your logic we should be laying the blame at the kings door. He left behind 7 or 8 world class players with not a lot left in the tank. Who's fault is it if Paul Stewart is signed to replace Ronnie Whelan or Marouanne Fellani is chosen as Paul Scholes replacement?

There is no argument that both clubs could have been handed over in better condition but equally there can't be an argument that 1 or 2 top class players per season keeps the roll thing rolling along. If Souness had signed Shearer and Keane the dominance would have continued for another 10 years.

What both situations show is how hard it is to create a dynasty. It just isn't done. The managers of English football clubs are not just coaches and they don't have directors of football. They are dictatorial figures, so when they leave they take their regime with them. From what I can see, Liverpool are the only club to ever have successive multi-title winning managers, and Liverpool did it twice. The common thread in that accomplishment is Bob Paisley. And that's why he is the greatest manager there has ever been.
