Fantasy Cover Versions

Recommended Posts

I sometimes hear a song and think I'd like to hear someone else have a pop at it.  Sometimes it's because I think it'd fit neatly with the fantasy cover artist's style; sometimes I think the fantasy cover artist could bring a new dimension to it.

For example, I'd like to hear Muse tackle Kylie's Can't Get You Out of My Head (to see if they could emphasise the unsettling note of obsession there is in that song).

I also reckon The Cure could do a decent version of this.

I think of stuff like this all the time but my mind has gone blank, it'll usually be a soul tune where I can hear Black Sabbath doing a great version of it or something like that.

I'll try and keep an ear out so I can contribute something a bit more worthwhile to the thread.

I'd like to see Justin Bieber cover Frankie Teardrop by Suicide in front of a packed house of Beliebers. With full on space echo'd screams of anguish and Vega style death stare. It'd be like when Bob Dylan turned electric.

I'd like to see Cliff pull off three men and a baby.

This is what happens when you've won Netflix.

Just now, Tony Moanero said:

I often wonder whether Sinatra would have been able to pull it off. I’m not so sure but like to think he would.

Dean Martin turned it down because he felt it was 'too fucked up for Vegas'.
