All looks to be currently going to shit up on that there Everest. Not sure if this is for here or the Covid-19 thread to be honest.

Nepal & China authorities are adamant that there’s no Covid-19 issues following measures being taken, where as every climber on social media has been pretty damning of how bad it actually is at both Base Camps & above.

One expedition yesterday abandoned the place entirely due to the risks and ever rising amount of people infected with Covid.

Two dead climbers as of recent days but most likely due to high altitude health issues as opposed to Covid-19.  A body is currently on the approach to the Hilary Step (or what remains of the Hilary step) following a death in recent days.

This post is pretty damming.

A mate & me are going to do Ben Lawers (just shy of 4,000ft) in September, I've always wanted to do this one so very excited about it. There's another munro (Beinn Ghlas) on the way up so if we do manage it, that'll be three munros down for me.

In Cape Town a few years back, kind of by mistake, we booked a hotel without really thinking about it, or looking a pic etc as we just needed a bed for 36 hrs and it just had availibity at short notice...

That's table mountain in the background.

That cricket ground below is Newlands and there was an international test on at the time.

Spent a whole day there drinking beer and watching cricket, with the commentry on the radio.

Cost about £80 a night!

Wonderful stuff.

Jut shows you how high it is being able to see the pyramids from it. Unreal mate. Did you take that or stickman?

I took it using a drone I was using at Hugh Hefner's gaff one morning.

I’ve just booked a b&b for my missus’s 40th birthday in august in Fort William with the intent of going up Ben Nevis cause it’s something she’s talked about for ages.

Other than what I consider hills but might technically be mountains in the Lakes and Dales, I’ve only ever ‘climbed’ one mountain - Tryfan in Snowdonia - which was mostly a scramble, although it was icy and snowy at the top in February.

is it realistic to think I can get up Ben Nevis on a summer jaunt or do i need to put some practice legs in on smaller mountains first to get myself ready?

Well, that was bloody hard work but what a great day.

went up the mountain track. We’ve been here since Friday and clouds have been dead low every day (making for great views from the ground, but crap ones up the mountains by all accounts) but today (my gfs birthday) has been beautiful.

was still cloudy at the top, so views from the summit ranged between limited and nil, but once under the highest clouds the views both up and down we’re incredible.

Avid followers of me on FaceAids will

already have seen these so I make no apologies for that.

Ben Lomond yesterday was forecast to be windy but easing through the day and possible cloud base of 900m, thankfully the cloud was much higher and we got fantastic views all day long.

Had the mountain top all to ourselves and I asked Mrs TheBitch the question.
