To Bournemouth. Not City, Chelsea or Barca. 3-1 up with what 10 mins to go and we loose 4-3 to I repeat Bournemouth. There is a problem here top sides don't do that.

So what? 3 points is 3 points. We beat Arsenal and Chelsea at their gaff and have scored more goals than anyone else. Only top sides do that.

The manner of this defeat will be forgotten about soon enough, we've got lots of football matches left to play. Klopp and the team deserve a chance to respond, at the very least.

You linked it to the comments on the game. Bar a few people who have said, for quite a while, that he seems a bit slow with substitutions, there has been very little criticism of Klopp. A lot of people are resigned to the fact that there is only so much he can do with this group of players, such is their collective lack of brains and balls.

He has plenty of credit in the bank, the players less so.

Agreed.  Klopp's stock with the fans will only suffer if he fails to address the shortcomings in the team, and we suffer as a result.

That 3 second clip tells you everything you need to know?

Come on lads, we lost a game. That's all. This idea that we need to tear everything up and start again, or the squad is shit and we're shit and everything is shit is a bit fucking tiresome. Klopp has enough credit in the bank that we can take our second defeat of the season, in December might I add, on the chin and not resort to the wrist slitting of the past 24 hrs.

That defeat will be a kick up the arse for everyone, the measure of the team will be in our response.

First defeat since August and the place is in meltdown.

I thought it was quite telling that Klopp didn't seem overly angry at the end of the match or in his post match interviews. I suspect he feels it was a small blip not something worth shitting the bed over and he still has belief in the squad.

Earlier this season Arsenal lost to us 4-3 and from their perspective there were defensive mistakes and they were overrun when they shouldn't have been. At the time their fans thought the sky was falling too, with more than a few of them calling time on Wenger. We are not the only team who can lose like this, and while it still hurts and frustrates, it's gone now, and you can only hope Klopp rallies them together and we go on another run. It seems the trip to Spain is with that very idea in mind.

As fans we are going to need to learn to listen to Klopp. He told us to believe when he came and a lot of people were slow on the uptake. Many fans were also adamant we needed to sign a left back and Klopp stood firm, taking Moreno out of the side and putting Milner in there, and he has been a revelation. Now Karius is in the spotlight and arguably fans are going a bit overboard in their criticism, and again, we should expect Klopp to stand firm and back his no.1.

From the fan perspective it's hard, because we've been waiting such a long time for that title. We have tons of 'previous' that triggers a disproportionate response when things go awry, but Klopp is just starting his journey with Liverpool, and he exudes a sense of authority and purpose even when we're flapping over a frustrating defeat. I'm sure he is gutted about yesterday's setback, but equally, I'm sure he won't go overboard.

Some sunshine, a thorough debrief, a bit of warmer weather training, and then a return home to hopefully go on another run. We're still a good team.

If we had a proper left back, maybe we would have seen that game out at 2-0.

That's not the only bollock Milner has dropped this season either. Think he's on about 3 direct mistakes leading to goals now.

The result ruined my weekend but hey it's not the end of the world.

The Burnley match was a shock too but we bounced back and turn things around for the good and have done really well since then.

There's nothing wrong with a kick up the arse and a reality check now and again (and in all honesty we were 80% great in the game) and I think in terms of this young teams' development it will help us rather than hurt and there is a lesson to be learned that games are 95 minutes long and you can't switch off, hell its worked our favour too before.

But it must start with a good performance and convincing win against West Ham. We have the capabilities of dry bumming them good and proper if the attitude and spirit is there. Chelsea aren't going to stay on that run forever and we still need to be in the mix to pounce when it does (hopefully end).

We go again etc

That Bournemouth player Cook was on the radio this morning saying they saw the keeper as a weakness and deliberately targeted him as part of their gameplan.

I heard the interview as well.

Jim Clarke asked him if they had identified Karius as a weakness and deliberately targeted him.

He said, truthfully, yes, they are been told to close him down quickly, and get shots off whenever they could.

Granted, they didn't get many off. And the ones they did get off went in. But its shows you where we are with the keeper if our opponents are flagging him as a weak point.,

To be fair, that looking to get in on the keeper after a shot in case he spoons it should be basic knowledge for any striker.

bottom line is we were static when the shot comes in. Absolutely no fucker moved even if the bournemouth player is rushing in.

It isnt stupid at all. If mignolet had of conceeded those goals, you'd be calling him out for it so stop sticking your head in the sand. Yes he did make a very good save moments earlier. That's exactly what can happen with mignolet.

Neither keeper is up to the job long term. Once we agree on that, we or hopefully the team, moves forward.

It is stupid as its a team game and after 12 games or however many unbeaten it doesnt all fall on one player who was responsible for 1 goal, and it has to get past 10 others in front of him. He wasnt at fault for the other three either. Its a team game and you win together and lose together equally. The question now is 'Can we bounce back?' We have to otherwise we will have other teams copying Bournemouth and going for our soft underbelly.

Its stupid because if you want to win a league title, as a manager you have to beruthless and not sympathetic to the players feelings. If a player isnt performing they get dropped.

Yes, its a team game, have you really been impressed with Karius since he was given his chance? If mignolet had of put that goalkick out for a corner would you have just accepted it? He's looked worse than mignolet on crosses than mignolet.

Its ok if you think his performance is acceptable and that the manager shouldnt look at the situation and put mignolet back it. It is about opinions after all.

As I said, both keepers dont look up to the job. One of them was talked about as the new neuer. Im not seeing any hint of that.

That's such bullshit. "Target the keeper", ffs. As if it isn't the actual point of football to shoot the ball a lot.

No one has ever or will ever compare Karius to Neuer. Not sure why you feel the need to invent that.

That's not correct. When we signed him, it was said he's been called the new neuer. Clearly, that doesnt mean he's now neuer's standard and it would be foolish to even think that.

EDIT I'll clarify that, he was said to be the new neuer because of his style of play, playing outside his box and supposed great play in the Bundesliga.

There's been nothing invented here.

We should expect Karius to continue in the team. Klopp said he's his no.1 so I can't see him getting dropped when the whole team laid an egg. The defeat at Bournemouth was down to many reasons, and we could go through it all at length, if so desired. To my mind, the biggest factor was missing Matip. We look a different team with him in the back line, and as for teams targeting the goalie, they can't even get close when Matip is around, going by the paucity of shots we concede.

We need a better partner for Matip. Lovren looks better alongside him, but as the weekend showed, he's not nearly in the same class. When we needed someone to hold it all together back there, it just went to pot. Klopp has half the centre back pairing he needs for the long haul. Whether we rectify it in January or summer remains to be seen. We also need another winger, and probably a striker, depending on what happens with Sturridge. There will be other changes too as the whole thing becomes Klopp's team and squad. We've made great strides so far, and we might even be good enough this season for a title challenge, but our good start to the season has probably masked the fact that we are still a bit of a work in progress.

Karius is a work in progress too. Whether we like that or not is irrelevant at this point, as he's in the side and has the manager's backing. It's easy to say he should be this or that. I would imagine he has the season to either cement his spot as no.1 or if he doesn't we'll go back into the market.

Mignolet is a little unfortunate - only a little, because he had started the season a bit better in response to Karius coming in. However, you would have to think that Klopp's mind was already made up on him, and on the basis of his time with us to date, Mingo is not the no.1 we need.

Regardless about how people feel about Karius, he's still performing better than Mignolet. Even after conceding 4 goals, his saves per goal is still better than Mignolet's this season and it's miles better than Mignolet's was last season. Making him the number one was and is the correct decision and he will step up. He's far better than what he's shown.
