About what was expected for the first half. Germany probing, Italy containing. A chance for Italy and a couple of half chances for Germany, but basically it's a boxing match where they are sizing each other up at the moment. Italy will be happy with that, Germany need to, and should, do more.

 

I would bring Draxler on. Pace and fast feet is much harder to deal with for wily old defenders than crosses to a slow big man up front. Playing in straight lines to Gomez is not helping the Germans. Get Draxler on to mix it up, and I think they'll create more chances.
