Ive started listening to absolute radio recently, and they play The Clash quite often. I've tried to understand the hype surrounding The Clash , but i just don't get it. Average lyrics, shit vocals, shit tunes.Who gets your vote ?

You're so wrong, withnail. Maybe you need to have been there

I have to say I love the Clash.  The production on most of their stuff was shite, but it wasn't just about the music with Joe. I can see if you were listening to it in the abstract, then I can see how a lot of it might appear underwhelming.  Joy Division were actually the opposite.  Trench coats, disappointment and abject misery.  Ignore the content and you get more from the music.  Even so, I thought they were/are overrated by Mancunian cunts who had nothing else to champion mainly.  Well they had the Inspiral Carpets. Actually the Buzzcocks were better than either of them.

nah, you're right.  That was an oversight.  Even though Albarn and Farmer Wileycheesefuck get on my tits, they have produced decent music.  And more consistently than the likes of Radiohead.

See, you started so well there stringy, just to ruin it with the very last word.

Oasis is an awesome shout. If your fanbase consists mainly of knuckle draggers who enjoy throwing bottles of piss you know you're pretty shit. Make me laugh the way Noel Gallagher constantly belittles people too, he who hangs around with wankers like Kate Moss and wrote lyrics such as 'after all, you're my wonderwall'. Get a hair cut and stop shopping at Top Man, you're a middle aged man you bellend.

Saw Oasis in 2004 at Glastonbury. I've never been surrounded by so much burberry, trackie tops and sovvies in my life.

I went to St Helens college for a year in 96 and all people did was dress, talk and act like oasis, even the girls. During dinner hour they'd all go to the Virgin Records shop and look at and listen to oasis albums they already owned. Never seen cultural contamination like it before or since. Me, I'd been dressing like Phil Mitchell and listening to acid jazz since the age of 14 and wasn't about to change for anyone.

To be fair, you were in St Helens. I'm surprised to hear they were walking upright and communicating with words rather than just flinging their own shit at each other.
