Liverpool's late-70s effort. Better without the Hitachi sponsor but still class. I find it strange how so few of our kits have put a modern spin on that template.

 

The first Warrior kit with the yellow Liverbird and LFC paid homage to that kit.

I love the Admiral kits of the 1970's. Dundee Home 1976-80, Manchester United Away1975-80, Tampa Bay Rowdies (Rodney Marsh) , West Ham Home 1976-78.

 

We were supposed to have come very close to replacing Umbro with Admiral. Admiral's designers came up with some kits which were, apparently, interesting but not too on the wild side. Admiral presented the kits to Bill Shankly and the players and had Steve Heighway model them. It is said the players loved them and Shankly agreed to Admiral's offer and terms and signed the contract. It is believed that details of the deal were leaked to the press by one of players and the board pulled the plug.
