Man Utd - Europa League (a)

We're going there to play their worst team in 25 years with a two goal lead and Jurgen Klopp as our manager.

I'd be happy to get rid of the lot (bar maybe Firmino) in the summer if they fail tomorrow. It would be absolutely unacceptable.

the manager would have to take some blame as well.

2 nil should be an unassailable lead but in football and with some of our defending in recent years they coukd easily have 3 goals from 3 shots on target.

however they will have to be cagey enough because if we get the first goal then it is over.

That's the correct attitude. We can help turn around a generation of second bestness against them by putting this tie well and truly to rest.

Yeah, it doesn't make up for the generation of our league failure and their success but we have to start somewhere and a loss to us hurts them a lot more than it helps us, in a way. Let's fucking hammer them. A potentially historic moment, so yeah, there is pressure. Bottlers be gone - time to step up.

I want us to park the bus.  I know it's negative, but I'd like to see 10 men behind the ball, intercepting, blocking, cutting off runs, learning how to defend as a team and protect the lead. In the meantime, we frustrate them, frustrate the crowd.

A boring 0-0 please.

No longer champions and scrambling around for a top four finish every year, that's where Liverpool fans learned the truth about despair, as will they.

There's a reason why being a Liverpool fan could be the worst hell on Earth... Hope. Every red who has ventured here has looked at the teams above and imagined climbing to the top of the Premiership. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have cried watching.

We learned here that there can be no true despair without hope. So, as Countinho terrorizes Old Trafford, we will feed its crowd hope to poison their souls.

We will let them believe they can win and be great again so that you can watch them clamoring over each other to stay in the sun. They can watch us torture an entire club and when they have truly understood the depth of thir failure, we will fulfill Jurgen Klopp's destiny... we will destroy Manchester United and then, when it is done and another dream of a trophy is ashes, then they will have my permission to cry.

Yes it should, Russ.

Giving up a 2-0 lead in a European tie, albeit a lesser tier tie, would be a new nadir.

Especially against Manchester United.

I get the driving seat analogy, less so that two goals counts as unassailable. They average two goals against us in the league this year, the exact same squads.

Where did that come from?

Makes Conan - "what is good in life"... look like a picnic. I like it.
