Really is one of the most disappointing defeats in recent memory....losing to absolute shite and they weren't even any good - feels self inflicted due to team selection and of course yet again we have shit the bed when presented with a real opportunity to make real ground.

Why do we do it so often - a chance opens up for us to really make progress and we pass it up spectacularly.

Everything went wrong today, started with the team selection which was necessary because of the ammount of games and injuries. Certain players where shite joe allen being one but he was not alone. This was bound to happen after all the hesteria. Yes Benteke gave his knockers a lot of ammunition with that performance, he simply has to move more, looked half arsed at times. Even sturridges touch was off when he came on, not our day at all

Well, that was fucking awful.

We lacked any urgency or attacking intent in midfield.  Lucas (who I usually love, but had a 'mare today) should have been switched for Henderson at half-time.  The handful of times we got forward in the second half, we were horribly outnumbered by Newcastle defenders, while our midfielders stood around scratching their arses.

I'm an owlarse, so Moreno's goal just reminded me of Alec Lindsay in the 1974 FA Cup Final - a superb goal by a Reds left-back against Newcastle, wrongly ruled out for offside.  The difference is, in that game, Liverpool played as well as they should and the Geordie nobheads didn't stand a chance.

Fuck everything.

I hate losing.

Klopp isn't a miracle worker - but he has come in and turned a pretty mediocre bunch into a side playing better and it is great he has - however mediocre players will put in bad displays at times....today for me they of course did just that but he is at fault for picking the wrong team - I can't believe that he had to make the changes he did today and i think had he not made those changes we wouldn't be sitting here so frustrated tonight.

The biggest disappointment today was the shape of the team, and in many sense the shape caused the very poor passing throughout the game. I don't know if it was voluntary or just an inevitable consequence of playing Milner and Ibe, two players too fond of hugging the touchline, at the same time, but the players were just so wide apart on the pitch. Today's shape was so unlike Klopp's tactics and philosophy, and only left us with lengthy passing options.

A complete difference to when Coutinho and Firmino are on the pitch together, as they are always close to each other giving our midfield several easy passing short options. Only thing we can hope for is that Milner and Ibe are never played outwide in the same team, at the same time again.

It's a learning process for everyone, especially for Klopp.

He will soon find out what a bunch of nobodies he is coaching. How many of them have actually won and contributed to winning a league title elsewhere? we need winners.

Stupid comment.

You could say exactly the same about Arsenal.  In both cases the answer is "Some - but that's irrelevant to what they might do this season."

Regarding the first goal, once again Skrtl showed his complete lack of game intelligence. He was 10 yards behind the rest of the defence, if not the situation would never happen.

Hopefully Klopp has already seen that Skrtl will never be good enough to play in a title winning team. He simply lacks the brain. That combined with his limited skills and pace is a recipe for disaster.
