I think most people realise that as you grow older your metabolism slows down, middle aged spread and fat old people are not uncommon.

 

It's the ones that pile on the pounds as teenagers when their metabolism should be racing that are unfortunately not going to live full and happy lives.

 

More should be done to combat the rising obesity epidemic but obviously by hitting the causes and not the results of it.
