I'm looking at getting a new leather jacket & the one I've been looking at has a couple of options. The cowhide leather is over £100 cheaper than the Italian leather one, is Italian leather worth paying an extra £110 for, anyone have any thoughts?

The one I'm after was probably fashionable in 1973, which is all I'm interested in.

I think you can get a timeless leather jacket that will always look good, same as a nice parka or Harrington.

The fashion now is fucking mental, the kids all look like their Mum dressed them & brushed their hair. I don't see many millennials running about with leather jackets on.

Depends on the look you're after I reckon, Italian leather is softer but cow hide is tougher. Depends whether you'd rather look like a 40s fighter pilot or a Mafia boss. Fighter pilot for me.

Nice jacket, but at the risk of sounding (even more) like an old woman, I can't get on with that type of low collar. I'm always wearing either a shirt or a polo shirt ("Is there a draft in here?") so it looks weird paired with that type of collar. Plus black makes me look too wan; had to get rid of my old black Crombie recently, which was a wrench.

Still, glad you're pleased with it.

Aye, I'm with you. A leather jacket should have a proper collar. Preferably an oversized 70s one in my case.

They are like rocking horse shit to get hold of these days. I actually had a decent one from Next last year, it was like a blag Belstaff, long dark brown motorcycle style jacket which was ace but heavy as fuck. It's in the loft now though as I've lost a bit of chunk.

Got this from Debenhams (in fact that is actually me). When I put it on I thought I was gonna cum. I also did the obligatory posing with a pretend gun in the changing rooms.

Very nice.

I've got a similar one that I've had for years and that I've pretty much ruined. I need to replace it.
