Ok let’s not get carried away, it was only Chelsea…. Seriously though, that felt good. Really good. It’s been a long time coming as our record against Chelsea - and the rest of the top clubs for that matter - has been appalling for a few years now. Maybe this is a sign of things to come, or maybe Chelsea are just gash. Hopefully it's both.

What we do know is that Klopp’s unbeaten start has stretched to five games and we’ve won two in a row. Things are definitely looking up, the atmosphere in and around the club now is completely unrecognisable from where it was pre-Klopp. Players and supporters are having fun again.

The best thing about this win was that we had to come from behind to do it. Usually when we concede we all know the game is up. We might sneak a draw but we never score more than one so a win is usually out of the question once the opposition score. Giving a goal away so early against Chelsea was going to be a big test of the players resolve, but they came through it.

Klopp had commented on how the players and fans virtually threw in the towel last week when Southampton equalised, and as soon as Chelsea scored he was yelling at the players to get their heads up. Better to concede in the opening ten than the closing ten though, at least you’ve got time to recover from it that way.

The goal was completely avoidable too. Milner got skinned by Azpilacueta and then Moreno was ball watching and allowed Ramires to nip in front and head past Mignolet. I had a feeling before the game Moreno was heading for a fall because he’d been sounding off on Friday about how much better he’s playing and how Klopp gets him and Rodgers didn’t etc

He’s right, but he was falling into the same trap Rodgers always did and was tempting fate. Just do your job, keep your head down and let others comment on how well you’re doing.

The left side of the team just didn’t function in the first half at all, but on the other side Clyne, Milner and Lallana did work some decent situations and got a few dangerous crosses in. With no Benteke in the side though we were never going to get anything from that approach.

We did wobble for a few minutes after the goal but Chelsea showed no inclination to try and land a knock out blow. That’s Mourinho for you, his negativity and shithouse tactics has won him plenty of titles, but with the talent he always has to work with, the football really should be so much better. Chelsea immediately went on the back foot and seemed content to keep what they had and wait for the mistake. It’s a ploy that has served them well for years but this season it’s failing, largely because ‘the mistake’ is usually coming from their own players now.

Coutinho scoring right at the very end of the first half was perfect but what I liked most was that he took that shot with his left foot. Ever since he's scored a few from outside the box with his right everyone has been trying to close him down and force him onto his left, just like Ramires did when he slid in. Now he's shown he can do it on either side he'll be that much harder to stop. When he first came he couldn't shoot with either foot, so you can bet that came from hours and hours of practice on the training ground. Moreno should get off his skateboard and take a look.

The one thing that's standing out for me is the better communication, not just vocally but in body language. Players are showing for the ball, and those around Lucas are making his job a lot easier than it has been. He's usually got an out ball that, should he be closed down, he can just ping off to another player.

I thought the Costa incident reflected really well on Skrtel. It was the last roll of the dice from the forward, and there was a look of almost sheepish resignation on his face that it didn't work.

Great stuff, as usual. Really loved it that we equalised during Willian-rolling-around-on-the-floor-feigning-injury time.

As for all the 'Lucas should have walked' shit, even Dave's 'letter-of-the-law' comment - please enlighten me, someone, as to which law this refers to? Is this the one that says persistent infringement = yellow, persistent infringement + 1 = 2nd yellow? Could be the one that says...'a foul for the tactical purpose of interfering with or breaking up a promising attack'.....  except it was on the half way line and we had about 7 players covering. I understand that our interpretations of incidents are largely based on precedent and practice, but wouldn't it be nice if one of the so-called experts in the media could actually quote the laws they THINK they're referring to. Don't think even Webb mentioned which law he had in mind when he said it should have been a yellow.

And it's all spurious anyway as they should have been down to 10 men a few minutes earlier and it's a totally different game.

Great read that, biggest difference is with Sakho and Skrtel, big six foot centre halfs doing what they love to do,winning tackles, winning headers, winning the battle with the centre forward.the confidence and belief Klopp has managed to instill in the players in such a short space of time is brilliant to see.hearing the fans singing to that gobshite, your not special anymore was brilliant

Plus...Obi Mikel was on his way down before Lucas touched him. Watch it again. He dived. Similar to Falcao trying to win that penalty against Southampton.
