January Transfer Window 2016

Sky's post window shutting update appears to be nothing more than them going around the club's training grounds telling us who didn't sign for them and which players stayed with their clubs.

Do they really need to devote a whole day to this bollocks?

You all tuned in did'nt you it worked.

Id rather put red hot pokers in my eyes than watch that shite

Saying "£38m isn't even enough in today's market and I just wish we'd pay whatever" is what leads to the club putting ticket prices up yet again, despite the obscene amounts of money in the game.

Except clearly it doesn't as it would appear we will have £70 a game tickets next season and yet we didn't spend. So here's my view, if they're gonna keep fucking us, I want them to spend some. I'm sick of this poverty shit we keep getting. For as long as I can remember we have always been in the top 10 earning clubs in world football. It doesn't alter our transfer strategy is based on buying shit and hoping to turn it into gold.

He got Joe Allen, right? And a few others.

And he let Carroll go on loan with the expectation of another forward coming in. We had no scouts or anyone at the club that summer, we had release loads of high earners, so we needed to sign someone - the only person at the club who knew the ball was round was Rodgers, so he bought who he knew, borini and Allen. I don't think that was giving him signings, he was just the only person at the club who knew the names of any footballers - with the exception of dempsey who'd they'd courted from before Rodgers was around and then decided they'd sooner fuck rodgers over and put him in his place. As I say, it was that bad they needed to apologise.

The apology was for the Dempsey farce and leaving Rodgers with no strikers but at least he got to make some signings.  Klopp hasn't had a sniff (I'm not having that Caulker one).  That's pretty unusual for a new Liverpool manager, I can't think of many times it has happened.

You won't get any argument from me that we're bad at transfers, though, Barry.  I agree with what you're saying.

Is that a change? Seems exactly the same as January 2015 and January 2014. After signing suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge in the January 2012 & 13 windows, why would they want to try and repeat that type of success? Much better to keep our powder dry till the summer when we can smash millions on shite scouted off spreadsheets.

Suarez and Biffa were 2011.  Don't mean to be a pedant, but we also brought no-one in under Kenny in winter 2012, when the need for another striker was similarly strong.  So many games we dominated that season without the scoreline reflecting it, but we soldiered on til the summer and not having been able to finish teams off all season caught up with us in the last couple of months.

It's bizarre for a bunch of people who favour treating player recruitment as akin to investing early in potentially lucrative shares, that speculate to accumulate based on what the team needs mid-season is something they avoid more often than not, when top 4 is worth so much more to them in revenue.  Would be more understandable if as you say we weren't so loose with our cash when we do spend it.

We'll never waste money again. That was the boast. Dicks.

Unfortunately the opposite has happened.

It was a miles better system years ago. Who would you rather have buying players, Houllier/Benitez and a team of scouts

Or a bunch of no marks who use data and promote sell on value.

I know what id rather have, and i know where the club had more success

Flanagan - like a new signing

Skrtel - like a new signing

Origi - like a new signing

Coutinho - like a new signing

Sturridge -- prolly wont be ready

Baloteli - like a new signing

Makovic - like a new signing

That possibly cuts the Summer signings by two and we an all pretend we've never seen them at Anfield ever.

never thought we'd get anyone and fuck getting held to ransom by ruskies in a season that is just about getting to the end of it really- we might even get a pot. want to see lots of this utter shite flushed first.

klopp won't take any of FSG's bollocks either. he'll get there.

if they want to get into a manager vs. board spat then they are welcome to bring it on. klopp is universally popular. everyone involved in the running of this club is fucking useless and a bunch of tosspots. only going to be one winner there with the punters.

if we do anything it will be despite them, not because of them.

Remi Garde ready to quit and who would blame him. Villa are on the brink of disappearing like Forest or Sheff Wednesday.

Not signed anyone in the window with all the riches coming to premier league clubs this year. Owner nowhere to be seen.

Every time I read "Transfer Committee" my brain parses it as "Coventry conference", probably because it's as shambolic as anything off The Office. In fact I wouldn't mind betting that health and safety supremo Eric Hitchmough and his wanking claw could do a better job of spotting and signing a player.

At the end of Rodgers 1st window in charge the owners had to issue an apology. All seems true to form to me.

Perhaps they wouldn't be if every shit club up and down the league wasn't spending a shit tonne of money year on year on year on players that are no better than average.

Whinge about the exponential price rise in tickets and going the game, celebrate the even higher rise in price of shit players.

The whole thing is fucked and I'm pretty much done with it.

All those Villa fans who were saying Benteke was too good for us because we're shit, as well as all sorts of nastiness, can't be disliking much less, I'd have thought. Ah well.
