I've noticed they've put on a MOTD style programme on BBC for the women's football, attendence for these matches tells you all you need to know.

Not worth the air time or the budget, all in the name of equality! Meanwhile massive popular sports like Boxing and MMA don't excist to the BBC.

This is less to do with equality and more to do with the fact that the bbc cannot dream of bidding with sky for sports like Boxing or MMA.

I agree that its pathetic that they pay so much for a crappy highlights show and the odd FA Cup preliminary round game, but there you go.

I just don't get this women in football thing. It's like trying to fit round pegs in square holes. Women are different to men, no matter how much we pretend otherwise. The vast majority of women have zero interest in football. Men don't go to watch women's footie on account of it being a bit shit compared to the men's game. Women don't go to watch women's football on account of them being women - they'd rather watch Property Ladder. Without an audience, you won't get sponsorship or TV. Women's football is already as big as it's going to get in the UK.
