I genuinely don't know why it's so difficult to defend in this team.

 

We are playing a midfielder in a back 3. With 2 other average centre halves who aren't suited to a back 3.

We expect our full backs to be wingers because we haven't got one decent wide player at the club ( Milner could be one but he's demanding to play out of position) hence we either commit to attack and play with 2 at the back or we try and defend - still fail but then pose no attacking threat.

People usually berate people for saying this but it wasn't a great performance and Villa were shit.

Sturridge is easily the most talented English player of his generation. Fucking ice cold finisher and his feet are lightning. Ings was very good too.

No. The team picked itself today with the injuries and he didn't have the scope to pick a Lovren or to play Ings wide with Benteke isolated,  Give him a smaller squad and he's less likely to fuck up

3 points against a side who've been a bit of a bogey team for us at home. The issues we have are bigger and pre-date this one game but I've had my say on that; I'm made up with the three points and us scoring more than one goals again.

Fucking awful at the back again.

I can't get personal but what a truly awful manager we have.

No signs of defensive improvement and this persistence with 3 at the back with 2 defenders and a midfielder is beyond a joke.
