Better team won by a mile IMO. Aussies got back into it because of the Smith yellow card and scoring a try straight after it gave them momentum and hope. As soon as NZ were back to full strength they upped their game again and Carter was coolness personified.

If that yellow hadn't happened I reckon the winning margin would have been wider. well done the Kiwi's, awesome team. Unlucky Aussies, losing a final hurts the most.

Great win to the All Blacks, they were the best team on the day.

All credit to the Wallabies though - they've made massive gains in just 12 months from the rabble that they were. Considering the easy pool draw that New Zealand got, and the easy quarter final (France were pathetic) they'd be expected to be in the best shape going into the last 40 minutes of rugby, but it was the gutsy Aussies not lying down, and getting their game together.

Fair call by the ref sin-binning Ben Smith, but overall some poor refereeing. I saw many forward passes by the All Blacks go unpunished. Owen is a blind man.

Still, gotta hand it to Carter, he always gets the All Blacks out of a poo.

Just a side note on Barrett - Skudder just doesn't stack up to him. Barrett can do everything Scudder can AND kick. Great to see him deservedly get the try to win it. Should always get the nod for selection. I know he was injured, but he's been fit all season and has much more reliability than the erratic Skudder.

Great final. Two best teams in world rugby.

The Wallabies (to their credit) managed to keep Milner-Skudder and Julian Savea relatively quiet.  The AB's in turn managed to recycle the ball quickly at the breakdown and nullify the strengths of Pocock and Hooper.  The AB's had greater quality in all other areas and, apart from that 10 minutes when Ben Smith was in the sin bin, pretty much controlled the game throughout. Great to see Dan Carter go out on a high after disappointments at previous World Cups.
