For the 4x100m relays, the teams stay in their allotted lane for the duration of the race, but for the 4x400m relay, only for the first lap and the first 100m of the second lap do they stay in lane. After that, it's all bunched into the inside lanes and you always see a runner who has finished their lap get in the way of someone else who is commencing their lap so that person either bumps into them or has to dodge them. Why can't they just keep it staggered and in lanes like they do for the 4x100m?

Would make the race a little difficult to follow, wouldn't it? As they'd be miles apart for most of the race.

Would be interesting in some respects as no-one would have much gauge of the required pace as you wouldn't really have much idea of how anyone else was doing until about half way through the third leg.

Decent overall performance from team GB, rounded it off nicely with 2 bronze medals in the 4X400 relays. We have some talented youngsters coming through which could bode well for Rio 2016.

Seriously? She looked fit as fuck at the medal ceremony.

I'd like to see her Fanny Blankers!

There are some suspicions swirling around her as she has gone from a run of the mill heptathlete to a fantastic sprinter in a really short space of time and she has terribly acned skin on her arms and shoulders which can point towards steroid abused.

As for her looks, she can look gorgeous at times but occasionally looks like she has a squarer jaw than Flash Gordon.

Allyson Felix ran 47.70 in the third leg of the 4x400m, best relay leg i've ever seen, caught up about 80m on the Jamaican and then overtook her at the end. My pick for performance of the games was Ayana in the 5000m. She knew she had to take it out of Dibaba because she didn't have Dibaba's pace over the last 400m and her last 3000m just completely ran her into the ground. Every lap from 2000m onwards just got faster and faster, incredible example of distance running.

What was your favourite performance of the Championships?

I don't know what the Jamaican anchor was doing hareing down the back straight as if he was running the 100m. It was ridiculous and cost his team a medal because he ended up blowing out of his arse down the home straight and got overtaken on the line by the Brits.

8:21 for the last 3km, the 6th fastest of all time. Awesome stuff, and she showed more balls than the men's race.

Ayana was probably the best. I was buzzing off Bolt in the 100m but he did benefit from Gatlin bottling it by leaning too early. His 200m was just dominant.

Kiprop winning the 1500m despite being his usual tactical mess was awesome. He's so good he can win a race anyway-his bizzare race in the Anniversary Games being a case in point

Ennis, not close.

Got a lot of respect for the heptathletes and decathletes in general though.

She dropped a nipper a year ago, must have trained like mad to get back into shape. Not the best of competition on the whole but she put in a seasons best performance in winning the Gold.
