Lucas wants out? Good for him.

I hope you're not one of the many posters who berated Borini's decision to stay and fight for his place.

No I wasn't. Just like I don't act like a little bitch when players want to leave for better teams/ more money. A lot of these guys are bellends and I'm too old to form an emotional attachment to spoilt young millionaires.

I'll miss Lucas though, top bloke by all accounts but nows the right time.

Anyone who says otherwise cares more about principles than winning trophies, good for them. Losers.

I suppose principles do matter, otherwise the fans would just switch to Man City or Chelsea. I'm guessing if you did a poll on whether you would like Sir Alex Ferguson to come back from retirement and manage us for the next 5 years, then most would say no, and he's the most successful manager in the the Premier League era...

That's a good poser. Would you take Ferguson for the next 5 years if it guaranteed 3 league trophies and a European Cup and 5 years of champions league?

Just for the record I actually think that Mourinho is a far more detestable cunt than Ferguson but I'd still find it easier to welcome Jose over Slur.

As I said during the dark days last season the only managers I would have accepted coming in to replace Rodgers were Capello or Mourinho, two men who are almost guarenteed to get a title if they are given a fair chance.

Mourinhos a complete cunt and I don't like the man but I know I could get behind him if he became manager, when he started defending and speaking up for our club like he does with Chelsea all the fanbase would.

Cunts that are very good at football will always be welcomed and embraced with open arms.  Winning is what matters most at the end of the day.

There would be a very different opinion of Luis Suarez on here if he played for any other team in the league.

Hasn't been the same since his injuries back in 2013 and in any case he isn't a constructive enough player for the manager we have, so selling him would probably be for the best for all parties. If we do sell him though I hope it's to bring in another midfielder who can defend a bit, as the others we have aren't really very good at it with the possible exception of Can.

Capello? Never mind weed, how much crack do you smoke?

You'll miss him when he's gone, when it's just a bunch of selfish twats eyeing moves away the second they have to sit on the bench or players that think they're far too good for us. Players like Lucas are a dying breed.

A player that was hated when he arrived and kept his head down, never said a word about it and won the fans over in time. I don't rate him much as a player, (similar to you stringy) but as a man he's right up there with Sami, Kuyt and Hamann in terms of foreign players that have just got us, the city, the fans, everything.

I hope he gets a boss send off, but Brendan will probably fuck him off on the last day of the transfer window for nothing and he won't have the chance to say goodbye. Has anyone noticed the fact that hardly anyone can last more than 3 years with Brendan?

If Lucas goes, we'll only have two players that have been here longer than Rodgers: Skrtel and Henderson - both of whom he's tried to sell at different times.

I wouldn't even let Ferguson manage our reserves, and I absolutely despise our reserves.

Maybe him failing with England has made you forget about what he done before that but not me, England flopping in a tournament is nothing new and international management is a lot different to club management.

He was my first choice when Kenny was sacked, thankfully things went well with BR doing well playing better football then Capello would have, if things go tit's up he'd still be a manager I would be happy with.

That injury against Chelsea properly fucked him up.   It was reckless of Kenny to play him every game that season; an injury waiting to happen.

Two days after he bossed the midfield against City and put a lot into it. Every one else was rested but Lucas had to play because we had no cover for him. 4 years and we still haven't signed a holding midfielder.

Can, Milner and Henderson are all box to box players who aren't going to shield a defence against decent opposition. Play the three of them in midfield and there's enough work rate and energy to collectively do a job off the ball at least. That's if he doesn't persist in Henderson and Milner in a two.

Don't get me wrong, he was a terrific manager but that was ages ago and I think his particular brand of football has been passed by.

He's tried to get rid of most of the players bought on his watch let alone those he inherited. The likes of Balotelli, Borini, Sakho, Moreno, Markovic are clearly not wanted in addition to all those who have left. Part of it is he can't handle conflict or personalities, so anyone with an opinion he wants rid of and it'd seem Lucas is another victim of a personality clash with the ego. A yes boss like Henderson or Milner is the perfect Rodgers captain.

This is the way Rodgers is. He has a highly disposable attitude to footballers, which is all well and good, but he doesn't seem to realise that footballers cost money and we're trying to run a business. It's an extremely expensive way to manage. particularly when you've got such a terrible eye for a player (Lovren, Lallana, Borini, Lambert) and the way players get treated here now sees their value whittled away to nothing when Rodgers decides on a whim to wash his hands with you.
