Thanks for the kind words lads. Been a few ups and downs over the years and I've made one or two terrible decisions but it seems to be working out for me overall these days. I'm closing for a major refurb in a few weeks, the pub is going to be fucking amazing when it reopens.

I'm not sure what that "easy listening" bollocks is all about. I've got a playlist of videos which I put on random and consists of anything from Foo Fighters to Brian Jonestown Massacre, to Kirsty Macoll to The Doors to The Clash and anything in between. Easy listening my arse.

Nice. Might pop over and take my Pudsey mate there for a jar as we discuss mountain biking routes of the Dales. You have been warned!

Well fuck me sideways. I've made it in to The Good Beer Guide 2020. Four years of hard work doing what I love doing and I've got a CAMRA pub of the month award plus this under my belt. Fucking made up.

Cant you open a pub in the city centre? Can’t be arsed going to Phut-saaay.

Looking at Google Maps, it’s only a 10 min drive. It’s also literally round the corner from the old sea who used to run the Harrogate Supporters Club, you’ve missed a trick there.

What were your mistakes you made, mate, if you don’t mind me asking.

Thought I knew it all early on. Was contacted by a pub company and offered a pub in Hertfordshire which I took and it turned out I was never gonna be able to make any money. Lasted 2 and a half weeks and fucked it off. Luckily the leaseholder here was pleased I wanted to come back. Also took an additional live-in pub in Drighlington which turned out to be an absolute  nightmare. Full of racist coke head thugs. Trying to run that and this place at the same time was like herding cats. Lasted 3 months there and I just concentrate on what I do well at now at this place. Seems to be paying off. I've got a great bar with a great rep and I get 2 days off a week. Decent.

I'd love to pick this place up and drop it in Leeds city centre. I get a lot of inspiration for this place from the likes of Wappentake and North Bar.

As for sponsorship I'm about to start sponsoring Farsley Celtic who I've also been to see a few times. Cracking little club.

Stig likes your Celtic reference.

I haven't run a pub but I did work in one for a summer job when I was at uni.  After a couple of months a new manager came in.  He said I was the worse barman he'd ever seen and sacked me.  If you need some staff I'm all yours.

Invaluable advice.

Well done particularly, at a time when so many pubs go to the wall.

Just a thought, theres an app and a catalogue by an organisation called Britstops. If you have a bit of a car park you list that you let mobile/camper vans stay over night either free or for a small fee on the understanding they use your facilities either for a meal or drink. I guess it depends on your location but there are loads of pubs doing it now.
