I reckon August will see him demoted as LFC captain mate, Klopp won't suffer fools gladly. He might even be sold on to free up wages and fund a better midfielder. Henderson seems a nice enough lad but he isn't a very good footballer if you have aspirations of being a top club again, mid table star, top team flop.

Best thing that can happen to him is that Klopp brings in a proper captain and leader in the summer and he can go back to just being a midfielder and hopefully improve.

How is he above average? For an English standard player maybe. He wouldnt get near a decent international team. Lucas Allen and stewart are all better players.

Allen will quite clearly be first out the door.  He's fifth choice in a woeful midfield.  Even his daddy was preferring Henderson for the majority of his time here.

I don't know that Swansea will come back for Allen if they stay up. I'm positive we're selling but he's had almost no league minutes this season through injuries and not forcing himself into the first team of a generally mid-table team. Maybe over everything they want a Welsh player though.

We have proven in the past to be Big Spenders in certain areas but Never Never Never have we replaced Masch or Alonso. Henderson, like the rest of the midfield options we have is a support act at best. We could get rid of any of them and not be in any worse position.

 

I'd keep Can on the basis I think he has the raw attributes to get better with better players around him but the others will never be anything other than mid-table standard hence why we are where we are in the league.

I'd be fine with him being 6th choice central midfielder. Same applies to the rest of our midfielders.

 

I think to build a collection of central midfielders so lacking in ability to tackle, pass and shoot, combined with a complete lack of intelligence and bollocks, is quite an impressive feat. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if we swapped them all for Newcastle's midfielders. Or Sunderland's. Or possibly even Villa's.
