Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

I agree up to a point. If you take the top ten teams out of the equation and we only had to play the bottom ten teams at any point in the season, Henderson would be absolutely fine in this team. He played very well against Newcastle, who are really struggling to stop conceding goals while finding them hard to come by for themselves. Henderson will cope fine with these teams, so long as he has really good players alongside him in the middle.

If he's in the team against one of the top teams, he will always struggle to impose himself in these matches. He takes too long to do anything other than a sideways pass or a backwards pass, he normally points to where the ball should be going (surely a decent player in this team is going to know where the ball should be going?) and often in the first two thirds of the pitch refuses to do what he would point out to others.

I am beginning to wonder if Klopp is testing Henderson out in these matches. Bear in mind that up to the point of signing Alisson, Klopp was absolutely behind his boy Karius. All players make mistakes, he will learn etc. Boom. Alisson is signed, bye bye Karius. It's in Henderson's interest to MAN UP and start showing he can do against Man City what he can do against Newcastle, otherwise there could be another Boom.

Klopp knew enough about him to spend £100m on 2 players in his position last summer. He’ll be marginalised next season if he’s still here

He's as useless against the bottom sides as he is against the top, for different reasons.  What is consistent about him is he panics under pressure and won't make himself available for a pass when he thinks he might receive the ball under pressure.  It was one of those traits that when he joined I felt he might grow out of.  He hasn't; you could argue that it's got worse.

We're starting to reach a point where even top teams are letting us have more of the ball. For example, we had more possession than both PSG and Man City away which is pretty incredible. The more this happens, the more useless Henderson will look because when those types of sides let us have the ball, they do it to press us high and that's the killer for Henderson. He's a massive liability in those matches and he shouldn't play.

It used to be we'd batter top sides by hitting them on the counter and winning all the second balls after pressing, which is what Henderson was good at, but it's less viable now. The best teams in the world will not less us do that and we need to adjust our personnel accordingly.

Until Keita is on form and firing I’d prefer us to play 4-2-3-1.

Fabinho and Gini as the two and have more creativity going forward.

Hopefully when Keita is showing the form that made us buy him we can mix it up with both formations and he’ll add a more dynamic impact playing on the left of a midfield 3.

Yep - we look really stable at the back with those two side by side and certainly have to get Shaq on the field at the expense of one of the piano movers

We were linked to another midfielder in that mode. Finnish guy Toumi Touyoo.

Henderson plays like a brain stem. like if you lopped off Edgar Davids's head and his body carried on running.

Every game now it's glaringly obvious how limited and cowardly he is. This team has passed him by and he's standing out like boil on the end of a nose. I was a big fan of his when he first joined but he has faded big time and needs to be shipped out if the midfield is to ever improve. In fairness to Klopp, Keita was meant to be his replacement but he just looks like he is playing with a cock rash.

Keïta was never meant to be his replacement, they play different positions.

Hendo will be here for a long time, sorry everybody.
