I don't think you're being honest with yourself.  Kind of squirming around and mincing about with the semantics.  But whatever.

Fucking hell, what do you want from him?

NV thinks hes ok, sometimes not very good, sometimes very good, but mainly ok. I dont think thats a particularly unfair description. The world is often not black or white, although I think NV thinks he white. Allwhite if you like.

He suits playing further forward.

I said on the Southampton thread it was interesting he spoke to Klopp about playing further forward (got my first ever neg...luckily I don't really understand what that means).

It's only been 1 and a bit game but he seems to be a different player

I think it's just a case of whoever plays as the "6", to use Klopp's term, has to naturally play more conservatively and take fewer risks, like Fabinho tonight.  Fabinho was never in danger of scoring a goal or getting an assist tonight, but he still had a good game.  Like Hendo has done many times when playing as the 6.

It's a friendly welcome code.

All this “I went to the manager and asked to play further forward” stuff is absolute shite though as if this is some sort of mutual decision.  He’s either been told his days are numbered in that defensive role or he’s realised it himself.  Those comments stunk of damage limitation.  Fabinho is a better footballer than him and better in that role.  The only way for him to still stay here would be if he filled one of the other midfield positions.  He will be good further forward because it suits him and if he played like he did tonight in the majority of games he would be in the first 11 in most games.  That won’t be the case though.  In the long run I just don’t see him surviving.

Brilliant to see his performance tonight, actually forgot the energy and tempo he could bring to a game. He’s not the most pleasing on the eye technically but from 2013-2015 he scored a very respectable amount of goals and was one of the highest assist making players in the league. He was brilliant tonight and it was really refreshing to watch him play there again. Fair play to him.
