Hes bringing in coaches who like to press high and play expansive football.

at least we can see a plan to return to the football of 13/14 now can they implement it?

He's bringing in someone who won't challenge him for the manager's spot, not the best man for the job.

Many coaches play high and expansive football, but that doesn't make good coaches or good enough for a club size of Liverpool, does it?

O'Driscoll might be one of those who is very good at the actual coaching and assisting aspects rather than the managing, team picking and squad building aspects. I don't really know. If he's shit at both then people will justifiably raise questions and accusations about Rodgers picking another one of his mates rather than what is really required.

What I do know is that we've forfeited an opportunity to bring in somebody who has proven experience at the level we supposedly want to be at.

Yeah we also forfeited the opportunity to appoint a proper Manager in the first place. And that will come to bite us in the arse.

I'm pleased in the sense that he's picked by Rodgers. I wouldn't want him butting heads with an fsg guy as it would take attention away from the team.

Was hoping for someone with top level experience so pretty disappointed on that count but let's just hope o'driscoll is as good a coach as Brendan seems to think he is.

From his Wiki, on his last stint in management (for Bristol City):

"The start of the 2013 season saw the club at the bottom of the division with 6 points from 6 draws, no wins and 5 losses. Bristol City parted company with O'Driscoll on 28 November."
