Not unambitous but it's good to get someone in as a coach who actually wants to be a coach, if we brought someone like Hypia in he would be looking to move on when a job becomes available and if we had a bad run some fans would be calling for him to be manager.

Well hopefully it all goes pretty well from here on in. We are going to have an expensively assembled squad so if we have a very bad run, Rodgers is probably goosed anyway and we'll have a pick of better managers than just whoever is coach.

Do we need a token ex-player on the staff with no coaching success behind him? We've just got rid of one.

 

On the plus side he's been there, done it and won it as a player and painfully few people left at the club have. He'll have more of a clue in Europe than Rodgers.
