  1. 1. Who do you want to cunt Cameron in the bastard?

    • Liz Kendall - she invented mintcake.
    • Andy Burnham - such sadness in those eyes
    • Yvette Cooper - uses her maiden name because she doesn't want to be called "I've ate balls"
    • Jeremy Corbyn - substitute geography teacher

Corbyn should leave Labour and set up a new party.

Have been thinking the same thing recently. I read Seumas Milne talking about how things have been changed either way not long ago and I didn't really resonate with what he was saying, but I think I get it more now. This is actually a huge change taking place, and the other Labour leader contenders and media are almost working like a tag team to ensure that it carries on doing so.

They might be facing the reality about now, or maybe they were quick to see it and already understand, that even if Corbyn loses, there's a momentum here that's not going to be stopped anywhere near as easily.

The constant criticism of Corbyn is very reminiscent of the Scottish independence referendum i.e.

"Don't vote for this it's bad!"

"Ok then what do you have to offer?"

"Erm... Well... things staying the same? Rich get richer and increase the disparity between them and the poor "

"Great you've really convinced me"

I was thinking the same. Also, like with the Scottish referendum, each scare story seems to be pushing votes the other way, doing the opposite of what it was intended. There's a growing sense that many people aren't just dissatisfied with the politicians they've been getting, but the media that have failed to scrutinise them on behalf of the public. The traditional media laying into Corbyn is becoming a validation of his outsider status, and increases the hope that were he elected, he may do things differently. If he wins, I don't think he'll be quite the lame duck some have assumed.

Mirror - Burnham

Guardian - Cooper

It is quite encouraging, regardless what happens from this point on, that Corbyn is currently 2/7 to win the leadership election, and polling at over 50% of the vote purely through social media and him travelling around the country speaking to people. The entire mainstream media has been utterly poisonous towards him (especially the supposed "left wing" papers) and yet still he is comfortably the most popular choice. As others have mentioned, it's actually solidifying his support the more Blairites attempt to shoot him down.

Read the Guardian comments section. I know it's not an entirely accurate snapshot of the country by any means, but it has changed dramatically over the last month or two. It is now filled almost completely with people attacking the paper for attacking Corbyn, and Tory trolls. The paper is pushing Cooper and people just simply aren't having it.

I don't think Burnham is Blair. I think he's a decent bloke. I just don't think he'd stand a chance. I don't think Corbyn stands a chance either with Scotland lost and pending some kind of social revolution. but fuck it who cares. I think copper is the most likely to win an election because she's got the spiel. The narrative of a reasonably slick woman up against an intellectual lightweight like Osborne or a buffoon like Boris could also pay dividends.

Been seeing this a lot too and I hope you are right.

It's exciting to think a majority of people (relative to the leadership vote) have woken up and seen the media for what it is, and won't be swayed by them.

To quote Kevin Keegan, I will love it if we beat them. Love it.

I signed up to vote in it, Corbyn is the first politician in my voting lifetime who has been anywhere near a chance of representing my views and potentially being in a position of power to do so.

The only one of the candidates I've received an email from is Corbyn and I've had nobody checking me out to see if I am too left wing for them, unless if they are checking via constituent MPs Alan Campbell is just allowing through anyone who has ever had contact with him.

It's a very weird concept "we have this guy who people seem to actually like and people are signing up because they want him to represent them, lets see if we can stop them".

Democracy in action.

She's so fucking shit I almost feel sorry for her.

She's so typical of the majority of modern politicians, lots of words but says nothing.

See the likes of Mark Steel and Ken Loach have been denied a chance to vote because they do not support Labours core values.

These stinking liberal minded socialist types, can't be having any of this nonsense.

The Guardian's Endorsement of Cooper is an amusing read. 80% of it is about Corbyn and how he's energised the race, and 20% is them recommending Cooper and saying she can't waste this energy Corbyn has built up. Er.....

There is also a political sketch of Cooper in The Telegraph based on her Manchester speech on Friday. At one point it refers to Cooper banging on about needing policies to make things better, when one listener asked her what they were because he hadn't heard one all morning.

To be honest I partly blame the working class for being fucking idots.

Yes we dont work down the pit or at the docks anymore but we are still on shit wages and could not afford a month off work.

Cheap credit and increased debt has made the working class feel affluent. I can't be working class I own my own home and have an A3.

You owe the ban 150k. There is servitude.

I cannot vote socialist he will take away my hard earned standard of living... You mean debt

Just received the following:

"It's Jeremy Corbyn, seeking your vote for Leader. Can I ask who you're backing? Text JC for me, AB for Andy, YC for Yvette or LK for Liz. Reply STOP to opt out."

Have texted back asking if he fancies a pint of mild and a chat over a game of dominoes.

Hopefully he's not just cockteasing.

I think we will see a gradual shift in politics where the left does get a voice. I think Plaid will get a lot more votes in Wales, then with left wing parties getting influence in Scotland and Wales, how long until someone starts a North of England Party? That would immediately get traction if done well, and so it will continue. They won't be able to shit on the working class forever and get away with it. It's amazing it's got this far, but the pip will squeak eventually.
