Roberto Firmino

I remember you were championing Firmino when most of the forum were still in nappies.

Tis true.

He's a great player and will be for us now that we've got a manager who trusts him and knows how and where to play him.

Once we get a striker fit (!), I expect Firmino to slot in just behind and then we'll all see what a fucking top class player the lad really is.

In the build up to the second goal, after he's made that interception, he's got no right to win that ball.  Any sensible player would realise there's nothing on and just fall back into a defensive position.

I may have mentioned before that "force the error" is one of my favourite expressions.  It's what our attacking players were doing all day yesterday - and what they never did last season or in the first part of this season.

City defenders were made to look like fucking amateurs yesterday.

It seems that Rodgers horse-traded with Firmino and didn't know how to use him or didn't want to use him. Kloppo knows exactly how deploy him and we're seeing the benefits of it.

To be fair to Rodgers, Firmino only played a handful of games for him and was adapting to a new league.

I thought that until the story came out that Rodgers told the club he wouldn't have Firmino if he couldn't have Benteke. Started alarm bells ringing that did. Rodgers didn't know where to play him either.
