He was shit against Fulham but so was everyone.  Other than that though his last few games he has definitely got his mojo back,  you can see it in his dribbling.  He’s give it away once or twice which brings the criticism but his passing and creativity on the ball is 100% back. I feel like the front 3 are so close to clicking again.

Like all other players he’s judged more or less only on what he does on the ball.

And on the ball he can be pure genious, but also frequently quite terrible.

 

The thing with Bobby Firmino is that his main contribution to the team is his work off the ball. 
 

Players have the ball for 1-2 minutes in a game, so the point is valid in general, but to a different degree for Bobby because of the particular role he plays in our setup.

 

He hasnt been good in all games this season, far from it, but he anyway remains very underrated.

He literally moves like a tank nowadays. He never looks sharp and hasn't done for most of this year. Jota has shown up him up big time (not just his goals, his all round play). You would have thought that Jota displacing him in the first team would have snapped him into action.

 

I honestly don't know what he adds to the team any more because he gives the ball away so much.

 

There was an attack late in the first half where he had runners to his right and the ball was on to them. He then bizarrely decided to shoot from a ridiculous distance and then literally just fluffed the shot and gave the ball back to Fulham.

 

I know most of the team didn't play well today, but have lots of credit built up to have an off day.

No doubt about it, in recent games his touch is back, which seems to have helped improve his all round game. Personally I think he's not really been on it since the injury before the 2019 CL final. That's not to say he hasn't had good games, as he has. But just his touch was never quite there and it's led to lots of ordinary games and his goal rate to drop. Let's hope that Bobby we had for the 1st couple of years under klopp is back.
