Those are players who can provide the offensive part of what he does. None of them are close to the total package.

He is one of the best tacklers in the game tracking back and a big part of our set piece defense.

This. Surprised to see the number of people still not acknowledging this.

Bobby, Van Dijk and Alisson are our most important players. Leave one of them out and we’re not the same team.

We can afford to leave out Firmino at times against lesser teams as we are such an attacking force and he does still have odd games where he just doesn't seem to fancy it too much, but he is so much better than any replacements we have that he is indispensable. Its understandable that we've been liked with creative players like Fekir as these players would offer us more options and the creativity we sometimes lack when one of our front three, particularly Firmino,is out of the team.

No Bobby for the rest of the season?

Fuck all chance of him being available for Tuesday.

At least we have Sturridge. Meh!

How do you know? What have you heard?

Just what Klopp said:

Klopp on Firmino. “Bobby had problems [in Barcelona], he still has problems, he’s not even in the squad. He’s just not available, that’s how it is, so we have to accept that. The medical dept said ‘no chance’. It doesn’t look good for midweek, no, it is not really likely.” #LFC

Fucks sake. Hope it’s a bit of kidology. Unlikely though.

Firmino will miss Tuesday's semi-final second leg against Barcelona with a muscle injury. He was a late substitute in the first leg and missed the entire game against the Magpies.

"He will not be ready for Tuesday and the rest [of the season] we will see," said Klopp, whose side face Wolves on the final day next Sunday.

What the fuck was weds all about.

Seems initial reports of out for season were correct.

Seems we risked the injury worsening in the hope of getting the away goal. It is what it is. We have needed a legit back up on the similar level to the front 3 for a while. I like Origi, a step down from the starters but can play the odd game and always involved.

Trash news about Bobby but hopefully Mo can go and we pull it off then we'll get him back for the final.

I like Origi too, I'd keep him around unless someone offered us stupid money for him or he started demanding insane wages. We still need legitimate cover for Bobby though, and really the entire front 3. Especially if the powers that be are going to allow City to continue to break the rules we seem to be intent on following.

His value to the team is still massively underrated by quite a few, which really is remarkable.

Alisson, Van Dijk and Bobby are the three indispensable players in our team. Take one of them out and we’re a different team.

After those three I’d say Fabinho is most important. These four are the core.

no,  Firmino is just too inconsistent.  He can have games - in fact stretches of games - where he cannot do anything right, cannot make a pass, can't be arsed tracking.  He has more brutal games than is appropriate for an indispensable player.  Fabinho is far more important to the team.  Firmino can be excellent, but too often he isn't.

This simply isn't true.  Your grasp on reality when it comes to football is hanging by a thread.   Can't be arsed tracking?  Fuck my life.

Read it again.  He often has games where he is ineffective with and without the ball.  He often has games where everything comes off and he’s positively terrier-like in his chasing down and overall work rate.  Watch the games.

He's basically the key to our style of play. Just because he's inconsistent, like basically every player in the world besides Messi, doesn't mean he isn't indispensable. He's the second most important player in the team besides van Dijk and it's not even debatable.
