Twitter says Bobby is actually dead and Klopp is lying, even to bobby's Maaaaaa.

So it's Mané, Salah and Billy Shears up front tomorrow.

Thank fuck.

Next season we desperately need to make sure that one injury won't have our champions League hopes hanging on a thread.    It was the same last year,  as soon so Salah went off,  we were beat.

This year's there's very few gaps to fill in the first XI,  so there'll be no excuse to still have no attacking threat worth mentioning on the bench.

I think our biggest transfer need has to be finding a player that could replace him adequately. Either that or another forward in the Salah or Mane style, but Firmino seems to be the one Klopp protects and values the most.

If you want ‘like for like’, Arnautovic would be suitable, considering he’s also naturally an AM, yet been successfully deployed as a forward for West Ham. Though I think he’s got his mind set on moving to China.

This is a worse idea than anything on the trainees thread.

There aren’t many False 9s about, let alone Premier League proven.

Lazy bastard. No chance Klopp would allow a player like that in the team.

There isn't a player in world football who can do the things Bobby does.

There are but they are rare and quite valuable. Benzema, Griezmann, Joao Felix and Dybala are the best ones. Diogo Jota comes to mind as someone who could replicate a part of what he does. Whabi Khazri and Fekir are others. I'm sure Klopp could find someone who has the right qualities he could convert as well I'm not thinking of.

Those are players who can provide the offensive part of what he does. None of them are close to the total package.

He is one of the best tacklers in the game tracking back and a big part of our set piece defense.

Rotation option. Obviously we won't find an exact clone, just someone who can play in the same area and shares some of his qualities.

Mane is a better option through the middle in a front three than any of those.

And Klopp loves Salah chasing balls into the channels upfront on his own.

We do need a guy who can play on the outside of our front three effectively.

    • He would get close to it between signing on fee and settlement payment from Madrid and there is a chance he may even be happy. He has a right to stay and get paid but he also has an obligation to try and get in the team and maybe even make himself available for CL games.
    • I can see us doing that loan to buy deal that was mooted about Palace and Sarr, not sure about us putting £40m down this summer. Seems mad to add another African forward in to the mix with the ACON but who knows what we’ll look like come then. If we can swap Wilson and Shaqiri for the price of Sarr I reckon Klopp does that deal.
    • The truth is its exhausting all this banging heads in here. I hate them, I always have done, my stance has not changed over the years, I'm very wary of them as owners. All good when the sun is shining but their stewardship will come under scrutiny when Jurgen leaves we will then see just how instrumental he has been, I'm hoping its not a Ferguson moment. I also get why people like them as success must mean they are doing something right to people.   I just don't think it is hard to see why people are polarised over them. As frencheyeglass said its constant mixed messages of how clever and great we are regarding finances, whilst crying poverty and being prudent on the flip side.    I had an argument with that plum Gorst the other day about our winnings, he thought it was ridiculous that I was suggesting we were getting 175million for winning the Prem And this is our local Club correspondent. As I've said before maybe the problem lies with our 'connected' journalists, constantly spinning out contradictory content, but no doubt at all in my mind that its coming directly from the club, which in turns winds up the fanbase.   I liked it better when you just discovered we'd signed someone in the paper in the 80s!
    • I was about to say I get the impression most players who have played for him think he’s a complete knobhead.  I looked up if any players have ever followed him from his previous club and there’s only one and it’s actually Thiago.
It’s funny that this fair fee thing keeps doing the rounds though.  He’s got a year on his contract and then he’s going for free.  I know that’s not the exact amount that a buying club would save because the player would want a better signing on fee but still I find it strange when clubs still pay stupid fees for players at that stage of a contract.
