Labour being whipped against voting to revoke A50?

That's a classic example of your oeuvre: it's about Labour and intends to show them in a bad light; there's no source; there's no context; and there's a cute little question mark at the end, to allow a bit of wriggle room, in case this isn't the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

The only logical thing to do is to revoke Article 50, discuss it properly and come back with Brexit once the country has decided what it actually wants.

Unfortunately, we now crash out automatically mid April if nobody makes a decision.

I think the ruling in the ECJ effectively prevents the UK government from revoking Art.50 just to try again at a later date. But if those figures are to be believed then we are still only left with a no Brexit or May's deal. Oh and No Deal too.

In other news I hear Mogg has been able to claim, unchallenged on BBC R4 today (of course) that only 300k went on the weekend march in London. I'm beginning to think my license fee is not enough to hire proper journalists and whether we should be contributing more.

I think he’s basing it on the lower end of this assessment.

Yeah. Luckily everybody here knows him and his game, so see right through it.

President of the European Council Donald Tusk is addressing the European Parliament.

He tells MEPs that EU leaders agreed to extend Article 50 and then adds "Here let me make on personal remark."

"Before the European Council I said that we should be open to a long extension if the UK wishes to rethink its Brexit strategy," he says.

"Then there were voices saying this would be harmful or inconvenient to some of you.

"Let me be clear – such thinking is unacceptable.

"You cannot betray the 6 million people who signed the petition to revoke Article 50, the one million people who marched for a people’s vote, or the increasing majority of people who want to remain in the EU.

"They may feel that they are not sufficiently represented by their UK parliament.

"They must feel that they are represented by you in this chamber

"Because they are Europeans."

Leader of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats Udo Bullman addresses his comments to Brexiteers.

"When are you going to pardon yourself to the British people for this torture they have suffered over the last two years?" he asks.

"When are you going to finally admit the total disaster that you have led everybody to under lies and deceptions?

"Apologise to the British people."

He adds that if there is a second vote on EU membership "the British people will tell you where to go".

European Parliament's Brexit negotiator Guy Verhofstadt notes that Nigel Farage is sitting in Parilament.

"I though he was marching," he says referring to a pro-Brexit march that has been taking place.

"You remind me more of more of Field Marshall Haig in Blackadder.

"You are sitting here in Strasbourg while your own people are marching in the rain."

The problem is that doesn’t apply to the electorate.

had a Barney with the father in law earlier, he’s coming out with ah we won’t be able to have daylight saving anymore if we stay in.

i asked where he read it, and in what context was it put forward.

his response was the times.

i asked about context, the political aims of the proprietor with regards to brexit, previous poor reporting with perceived bias.

his response was it’s in the times.

Depressing as fuck that it’s so easy to fuck a country of >60 million people up.

Sorry, was in a rush this morning.  Barry Gardiner on BBC news this morning.  Seems it’s true.

Apologies for the use of a black question mark, I can imagine how upsetting they can be.  Fucking hell.

Must remember not to be critical about Labour too. Please don’t go in the Lib Dem or Theresa May thread, you’ll fucking combust.

What's all the fuss about Barry Gardiner today?

Haven't had a chance to read about it, apart from the soundbite that Labour aren't a remain party.

If it's solely about that, do people not bother reading manifestos anymore? Not even a cursory glance? Labour have never been a remain party since the referendum result or since their Brexit policy was agreed at the party conference.

Still no idea what Gardner said  (or why you've got your knickers in a twist).

Gizza clue, Rico.

Letwin says he'll vote for MV3 if it gets brought back, which kinda begs the question of why the fuck he put forward the indicative votes motion, and Labour have now said they'll only support a second referendum on a Tory Brexit deal, not one of their own.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, imbeciles!
