State subsidies in the EU are generally illegal. Corbyn would be right.

https://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN06775

State aid is permissible under EU law where it assists regional rebalancing, small companies, research and development and the environment.

Furthermore, Corbyn has so many positions on this it's just another type of cakeism. He campaigned for remain but now is saying the EU would prevent his vision for state aid. What happened in the intervening months for him to have this epiphany? He also says he wants to stay in a customs union and have the closest possible relationship with the single market but then surely that would stymie his state aid dreams too because the EU will have tougher rules on state intervention.

So either he doesn't know what he's talking about or he's bullshitting the public. Which is it?

For anyone who still thinks that Brexit means an escape from neoliberalism.

Patrick Minford is one of the biggest cunts to walk the planet! I remember him in the 80's and 90's earning (if that's what you could call earning) his coin at the University of Liverpool whilst simultaneously slagging the City off a socialist shithole in the printed media and on TV whenever offered the opportunity!

He was one of the contributors to the infamous Up Front anti-Liverpool episode along with that cunt McCririck! With Tony Wilson as ringmaster!

Let's not get to dramatic now angry. If you want to act offended I'd suggest you pick a more valid case of discrimination, the windrush generation perhaps?

As for freedom of movement although it sounds grand in reality it's mainly a case of large swathes of men moving from country to country to try to improve their lives but find themselves being ripped off. In general they get paid less than home born workers.

https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/characteristics-and-outcomes-of-migrants-in-the-uk-labour-market/

It's a labour pool for capitalist exploration.

One more point; if you're so pro freedom why should a nurse from Poland have greater rights than a nurse from somewhere like the Philippines?

So, these are the arguments you would use?

"Don't bitch about the Tories taking your rights and tearing your family apart. They did it to the Windrush generation, so why shouldn't they do it to you?"

Stop citing Foot, Benn and Crow.  You are not a Socialist or any sort of lefty. You are a cunt.

I don't think the EU did much to prevent war in Europe, it was more a case of none of its member nations were capable of being world powers any more and the place was occupied by the two new kids on the block, the yanks and the Soviets.

And yet...

Plenty of European nations have been to war in the last 70 years. No two EU  Member States have fired a shot at each other.  Of course, it could be a coincidence... or it could be that the political and economic structures which were specifically designed to prevent wars are working.

Surprised angry and his mob see any need of NATO as the EU are apparently the greatest peacemaker since Gandhi.

NATO is a tool of US imperialism. It does what it's designed to do (including pissing the Russians off with its eastward expansion).

The EU was designed to prevent war between Member States, by removing the sources of tension, by providing mechanisms for dispute resolution and by tying the economic and political interests of Member States so closely together that it will never be practical for a Member State to attack another.  It, too, does what it was designed to do.

I don't expect you to understand this. You are a fucking moron.

When your arguments fail - and they always will, because you're a moron - you resort to the feeblest lies.

You might actually be the stupidest person on the Internet.

But my arguements havnt failed. It's why you have to resort to insults.

Why should a Philippine nurse receive less rights than  a Polish own

If being in the EU is essential to peace why havnt non EU countries like norway been at war?  You're arguements are fucking stupid; like the idiots who think having trident is the reason we havnt been in a nuclear war

Your bullshit about the EU being dull of  lovely peacenicks is disingenuous bollocks. now fuck off.

Immigration is shit for almost everyone - both the struggling locals working to keep up with changing technology and social values, and the immigrants finding it hard to fit in. The only people it benefits are the Archon slimeballs. They benefit from everyone killing themselves to find a footing.

I resort to insults because your arguments are all either illogical, irrelevant, factually incorrect or downright Tory.

All immigrants should receive equal rights.  If some workers have more rights than others, then the Tory response - the neoliberal response; your response - is to reduce the rights of (in this instance) the Polish workers, even if it means reenacting the Windrush scandal. My response would be to protect the rights of all workers.

Your Norway argument is up there with "it's cold in winter, so how can Global Warming be real?"  The EU was designed to remove the causes of war and to resolve any tensions before they escalate. There's a clear mechanism and logic to this which is completely absent from claims about Trident. The benefits of EU membership are even shared by EEA countries like Norway! They are most strongly seen in the Eurozone, where it is literally impossible for one Member State to fund a war against another.  The idea that Europe just gave up on war in 1945 is demonstrably untrue, as evidenced by the many European wars since then.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_conflicts_in_Europe

(You'll notice that there are no wars between Member States on the list. )

NB - That paragraph was for the benefit of any adults who might be reading.  I don't expect Gnasher to comprehend.

I have never said that the EU is either full or "dull" of lovely peacenicks.

Literally millions of working people have benefited from experiencing different cultures, meeting people from different backgrounds, broadening their own outlook and generally enriching their lives.

Tories yesterday admitted that they'll have to scrap customs checks for at least 12 months because we don't have the staff or infrastructure. Imagine, all those criminals ready to send over illegal immigrants, drugs and weapons and we aren't able to do anything about it.

Then as there are no checks we're going to be flooded with substandard goods and food from all over the globe. Farming and industry are fucked. But fuck the farmers, I drove the length and breadth of Derbyshire during the campaign and farms without fail had 'Vote Leave' placards everywhere. All for the want of a bit of research they're about to lose their livelihoods. Just chalk it up to Nationalism fucking up again.

    • The issue with the Utd game was all the things before the penalty including the ref not blowing the whistle an age before they even got the corner.  That Pen reversal, Var assistant telling the ref that Connolly played for the pen.  Surely the ref should be able to view the incident again without some tit in his ear influencing him.
    • Sorry fellas, can't still get over this Scum robbery of Brighton today. Don't Brighton have a case for appeal to higher authorities on the basis that the penalty was given well after the game was officially ended? I just keep wondering.
    • Loris Karius is set to be on the move again with Union Berlin favourites to sign the keeper on a season-long loan.

Karius has had a problematic last few seasons of his career stemming from his calamitous performance in the 2018 Champions League Final.

With Jurgen Klopp realising that he needed a World Class custodian, he purchased Alisson and the German was sent on his way to Besiktas.

The fortunes of both parties could not be more stark since they went their separate ways.

As Liverpool have gone on to win countless trophies on the domestic front and global stage, the spell of Karius at the Turkish giants was turbulent to say the least with public criticism of his performances by manager Senol Gunes and ending with the 27- year canceling his contract due to unpaid wages.

With Alisson firmly entrenched as not only the No 1 keeper at the club but arguably in World Football and Adrian proving a solid deputy, there is no way back for Karius at the Reds even though he has two years to run on his existing deal.

The Echo reports that the formalities with the German club should be settled by early next week.

Union Berlin managing director Oliver Ruhmert spoke after his their 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday saying:

“He could be a possible newcomer,”

Karius is just one player that Jurgen Klopp will be looking to offload before the transfer window closes along with the likes of Rhian Brewster, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic all linked with moves away from the club.
