Bringing the vote back on Monday, lobbying EU leaders over the weekend to delay a decision on accepting the extension request until later in the month, thereby bringing necessary pressure to bear on parliament Monday.

The amendment vote was so close even with the DUP voting for it, and the likes of Letwin are planning to vote for the deal. They might well get the deal voted through even without such pressure tbh.

Must have been plenty of Labour and purged Tory MPS voting against today’s amendment for it to be so close, and unlike Hoey I doubt most of them are likely to vote against the deal as well.

So this was just a "test vote" to see where things stand, without the need to hold an actual vote on the bill, the  loss of which would have been embarassing to Johnson, but also would have meant that they wouldn't have been able to vote on it again (following on the precedent Bercow set this spring re. voting on the same bill twice)?

Confusing stuff.

Someone made a joke and you and Leyton thought it was real?

Maybe I should clarify one of my posts: the woman on the row behind Nigel Dodds wasn't really flashing her ample bosom in a burlesque outfit, but was sitting behind two bald men.

Happy to help.

For me there's no doubt they'll get it through, there was at least half a dozen ex Tories who spoke after and said they'd support Johnson's deal. They only need 9 of them and less if some  labour just abstain. I reckon Johnson will see today as a good day, the letwin amendment has allowed him to see where the numbers are without having to go for the meaningful vote. He knows he doesn't need the dup now, he just needs to drag over a few of his own back and he knows with the likes of guake and letwin himself, that'll probably be pretty easy. It's why they've been pretty bullish and said they'll be back Monday. The interesting thing now is if he'll send the letter.

The best chance of not getting this Johnson deal now is a VOTC. If the letter has been sent, I wonder if labour will go for it. Johnson may even still support it himself.

Great March, decent people and a massive cheer when Johnson was scuppered . Only saw 2 Brexit idiots and the best they could muster was “you’re all fucking traitors “ . Not a brain cell between them . Off for a well earned pint or six and try and watch the Palace game

Anna Soubry is such a vile cunt.

her idea of immigration is that we British should all have a Mexican or equivalent housekeeper cooking our fucking tea while we are out doing the real work like Paul Kersey in Death Wish 2. and we all know what happened to her, don't we?

Let's stop this force fed pretence that the EU is some type of Bastian of civil rights and justice. It's a corrupt regime which is at the behest of bankers and big business.

*sigh*

For the millionth time - NOBODY HERE PRETENDS THE EU IS PERFECT!
