Most the poor working in those industries weren't even allowed to vote you dunce. It might shock you in your little Bristol socialist coffee shop bubble but the working classes aren't exclusively Brits.

One small step away from blaming the poorest people in society who can only afford lower cuts of meat vibes.

Honest question. You think girls in coffee shops have not received pay rises because of staff shortages? Really?

I'm happy to see all low paid workers get pay-rises and I reckon all on here feel the same. To say that the 'That black girl in a coffee shop shouting about her pay rise has become public enemy number 1 with certain posters" is bang out of order and a load of shite.

The coffee shop girl gets brought up an awful lot, but not by me.

Who brought her up yet again today and who once again defended her?

The War is the main reason, granted

Number 2, really? Interesting view much pushed by the Telegraph and the ERG but when you look at the alternative...

Re the Federal Reserve... the £ crashed straight after Brexit nothing to do with the Fed. The £ has also fallen re the Euro and surely the biggest impact on Sterling is the trajectory of the UK economy? What currency is safer now the £ or the Euro?

Im not sure there's any 'main' reason to be honest. Seems more a cocktail of shit events mixed together at bad time. Inflation was ticking up pretty significantly even before the war started, which has now exasperated it completely.

Not sure what you mean by the second part in terms of the alternative, I couldn't care less who its peddled by, I'm not going to dismiss something out of hand just because its coming people I typically wouldn't agree with or dislike.

The £ has been going down against the $ since the financial crisis in 08 though. Brexit certainly hasn't helped it but suggests something more fundamental is an issue, I'm not an economist though so not sure what that would be exactly.

The Euro is slightly above a 5 year low against the dollar. 20% down. Meanwhile sterling is 1 cent off a 5 year high against the Euro. Maybe that’s Brexit as well.

I don’t think that Sterling v Euro comparison is quite the win you think it is.  5 years you say…

Haha, wonder why you're quoting 5 years.. sure there was some sort of event, maybe 6ish years ago, that might have affected the exchange rate

I expect you're right re there not being a main reason why Sterling has performed badly over the last 15 years although economic mis management by the Government will be up there along with everything else already mentioned

Re Covid inflation that seems to be supply side related much more than demand side so QE, Furlough etc were marginally inflationary as opposed to the Supply Side Crunch which caused the majority of the damage

Gnasher, why are we fairing worst than everyone else economically?

Hmmmm, what changed for us to be in shitter place than everyone else?

This hounding really needs to stop. Someone working in a coffee house apparently got a pay rise that nearly accounted for 50% of her extra costs, and a carpenter on £40K is now on £50K- briefly, no doubt, seeing as no cunt can afford to buy anything extra and everything else is fucked.

Anyone who believes carpenters in Britain are taking a wage cut anytime soon is out with the fairies.

The answer to why we are fuvked is firmly at the door of our government (other non eu countries are managing ok).  Nice of Mugface to let them off the hook though.
