Pound getting weaker.

BoJo is effectively helping all the short positions taken by his hedge fund backers and making the UK more attractive to sell off. A weaker pound also means that wages start to come in line with economies we'll have to compete with after Brexit. Brexiteers are driving down wages, whodda think it! I always thought immigrants were to blame.

How is it not? I await your in depth knowledge on the subject and facts (not opinions) to back that up. Brexit is bollocks, especially the handling of it by a bunch of incompetent MP's. It could have been avoided, I mean, they've only had three years to sort it out and not play the arrogant fools thinking everyone would bend to their will. Like I said, avoidable.

On the night of the referendum the pound shot up when the polls claimed remain would win, and then plunged through the floor as soon as it was announced Brexit won. That's speculation. Every newspaper is saying the currency is falling because of the prospect of a no deal Brexit, ie the "speculation" of a no deal is causing it to drop.

I have to agree with Boss here.

Brexit is obviously going to fuck up the British economy, cost millions of jobs and make the country poorer for decades to come, as it stands though at the moment the fluctuations in the price of the pound are mostly speculative nonsense.

The drop in currency is a sign of weakness and decline. It was avoidable, they are banging the no deal drum and yet they know that will be difficult to get through. The uncertainty is all the UK's doing. BJ is just angling to make another extension everyone else's fault but his own. It's costing the country money, but hey ho, as long as the gullible swallow his shit.

That's why I said it is bollocks, it isn't just plainly down to speculation. Actions have consequences. The actions of the UK MP's dealing with Brexit has been pathetic from the off, the bluster coming from the current leader and cabinet is just a screen for more dubious reasons, it's costing the economy.

Yes, MPs promising the world when they know it’s impossible and/or will fuck up the country. See the Corbyn thread.

The big twist is that Boris and Jeremy are going to afford all their spending plans by paying in roubles.

The Lib Dems don't have to worry about their spending pledges, because they can just do their usual trick of pointing out that they had their fingers crossed so it doesn't count.
