Some of the UK seats will be abolished; the rest will be redistributed.

Thanks, so they don't get to stay the full mandate.

Can't read the article unfortunately, not on the EU money so I can't afford the Financial Times subscription. Tatler and Horse and Hound cleaned me all out.

Honda said they would close down Swindon if UK left the EU. Swindon voted Leave. Honda are packing their bags shocker.

Car giant Honda has confirmed plans to close its UK factory in another major blow to the British car industry, with thousands set to lose their jobs.

The Japanese company told workers at the Swindon factory that following a “meaningful and robust” consultation, no viable alternatives to the closure have been found.

Swindon will be disappointed when they look back at that.

They probably won't though and will go and vote leave again in the next referendum after Farage promises them a brave new world. Who needs a job when you've got a blue passport.

Swindon will be too fucking stupid to be disappointed when they look back at that.

Crispin Blunt MP suggesting a coalition between the Tories and the Brexit Party to get Brexit over the line. Just when you think the Tories can't get any lower they go and prove you wrong.

How many MPs do the Brexit party have? To the nearest zero will do.

He is one of them ERGers...I'm assuming that the Tories are laying the groundwork for an election. Which will likely solve the sum of fuck all.

Yeah, his plan is a shit one. It 'might' add one more MP to the mix. Their best chance it to agree a confirmatory vote with Labour and get the thing through parliament. Then, we hope to fuck we the people can reverse it. Unless, of course, the vote is 'This deal or no deal'. Oy.

If it goes to a public vote, the question will likely be, this deal, yes or no.

Based on what is that the most likely question?

I would be surprised if one of the options is essentially 'kick it back to us for a while', which is what voting 'no' to that deal would be.

Based on how confirmatory referendums usually work.

It will have to be like this, because anything else would amount to the second referendum, and this would have to be clearly stated. If you put a choice to the public, the choice must be clear, binary, in or out, yes or no for this. If Scotland voted for independence and then negotiated a separation deal with the UK, the next vote cannot be, do you want this separation deal or no independence, only do you want this separation deal or not, and if not, "you kick it back to us for a while".

Yeah, I don't agree. In fact, I personally think it'll be very unlikely.

More likely the deal or remain

yes or no to the deal won’t pass the commons because it doesn’t state what “no” means. It could conceivably be the three options with a transferable vote if nothing gets a majority but that would be unlikely as it makes it certain that the least popular option , the deal, would win .

Deal or remain is my bet

Remain cannot be an option in any confirmatory referendum about the separation deal.

Cannot? I'm genuinely not intending to be arsey when I say this, but why not? Is there some regulation that I don't know about that prevents it? A confirmatory vote is a referendum, as far as I'm aware. It's a political phrasing of the same thing, as with 'people's vote'. You say it 'cannot', so my question is... why not?
