You would think so, but in truth the South is viewed with some degree of disdain and investment is limited on the grounds that the money goes straight into the hands of the mafia. If Lega Nord got their way, Italy woud be split in two.

Not like the one big happy family we are in the DisUnited Kingdom.

Awkward.

Turning up in Brussels to try to save a deal with no specific plan, and then being told to look at the “promising” plan of the Leader of the Opposition, the main feature of which you’re on record as calling a “betrayal”. That probably is a special form of political purgatory.

I give up.  You're incapable of learning and understanding the most basic facts.

Here's the fact you can't understand. EU austerity has resulted in EU youth (our future) unemployment above 20%.

1 in fucking 5 youths are unemployed across Europe. If that 'basic fact" isn't enough a large slice of the lucky ones that are in employment are in rubbish service sector jobs.

Difference between rate and ratio

High youth unemployment rates do reflect the difficulties faced by young people in finding jobs. However, this does not necessarily mean that the group of unemployed persons aged between 15 and 24 is large, as many young people are studying full-time and are therefore neither working nor looking for a job (so they are not part of the labour force which is used as the denominator for calculating the unemployment rate). For this reason, youth unemployment ratios are also calculated, according to a somewhat different concept: the unemployment ratio calculates the share of unemployed for the whole population. Table 2 shows that youth unemployment ratios in the EU are much lower than youth unemployment rates; they have however also risen since 2008 due to the effects of the crisis on the labour market

All the youths in Venezuela are unemployed.

From what? Socialism or sanctions? Is it all down to the so-called evils of socialism, or has decades of meddling in the country's affairs by the US and others been anything to do with it?

Also this :

Quote

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chávez has announced that he will formally pull Venezuela out of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, a largely symbolic move given that the country has already repaid its debts to the lending institutions.

The leftist leader, who has long railed against the Washington-based lenders, said Monday that Venezuela "will no longer have to go to Washington, neither to the IMF nor the World Bank, not to anyone."

That right there is another part of the "problem".

Remember Ukraine?

Quote

In December last year, Ukraine agreed a $15bn bailout from Russia, but this was cancelled after protests forced out pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych.

...

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a $17.1bn (£10.1bn) bailout for Ukraine to help the country's beleaguered economy.

In March Ukraine put up gas prices by 50% in an effort to secure the bailout.

The government has also agreed to freeze the minimum wage.

Don't worry they're planning on screwing Venezuela over too if they get their way. Socialism is to blame though.

Think of those poor Tory party donors that won't get a kickback from their shipping company scam. Their big mistake was not having any ships or having any experience whatsoever of shipping. A bit like Brexiteers and Brexit.

3 year old article that. Plus backing something you were too afraid to vote for and that'll reduce rights and opportunities for youth here makes you a hypocritical cunt in light of all these youth unemployment posts.

Greece Spain Italy Porugal and the UK have sky high youth unemployment. Sorry but it's a fact. You can dress it up and try to slant the figures all you like but it's in plain sight for all to see. Look at paris now

The people who try to defend the indefensible are the cunts who need to give their head a wobble. A bad case of I'm all right Jack.

And you're happy for the youth here to be even more disadvantaged than they are now.
