In my opinion, on balance it's better than Catalunya stays within Spain and the EU, but violence against peaceful citizens is never ok.

I'm not sure what the EU can actually do to involve themselves in the affairs of a sovereign nation, without being accused of overstepping their boundary. Their power over the security and policing of individual nations has always been fairly limited, has it not?

Seems like lots of people are experiencing levels of cognitive dissonance over this issue.

I agree with the message that we need unity and stability, that means trying to hold together the treaties that have kept Europe relatively peaceful and prosperous over the past 60 odd years.

But, yes Gnasher, I recognise that the EU is very fucking far from perfect. Still.

Anyone who doesn't realise Brexit isn't a massive fuck up deserves all that is coming to them. I'm not on about the actual referendum result, which in all honesty was gained due to lies and empty promises, but the ineptitude of those bungling their way through the aftermath and the absolute fucking bell ends who believe all the bullshit due to their eagerness to see their crumbling empire restored. They are gonna get well and truly fucked by those who they claim to despise, and unfortunately take everyone down with them. The Uk still held a bit of respect within the EU, the rest of the World will fuck you in every orifice and give you back less than you had. Sad times for decent folk.

Is it arrogance mate? I reckon it is more down to pure nationalism, they really do think that being White and part of an Empire long lost is above others. The majority of those voting leave probably haven't got a clue about their own history, they just listen to the right wing rhetoric and lap it up.

Its all of that and more mate

For the sake of self advancement sociopathic cunts pander to thick cunts that look back to the days of a white homogeneous society and believe it's possible to wind back the clock. The question that never gets asked is why it's desirable to live in a monoculture anyway

Possibly, a lot of people are just thick as fuck though. Unfortunately you get a lot of educated people who are like minded with the knuckle draggers. They are clever enough to cover the subject they studied in but haven't got a clue about general knowledge, especially the mistakes mankind has made.

That is a tough question. What are the benefits of staying in the EU?

Money being put into projects that the British Gov't deem unnecessary.

Workers rights.

A court higher than any national jurisdiction. This really is more important than many think.

Trade deals on your doorstep, which kind of makes it easier to save money in the big scheme of trading.

Freedom of movement between those countries who are members of the EU. Not everyone wants to be shackled to a certain country.

It saves you spunking a shit load of money to get a worse deal that that you already had.

Probably the most important one, apologies for missing that.

This Dutch view of the English is long but very good

https://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/magazine/how-i-learnt-to-loathe-england

I read that earlier today thanks to some FB link. Although I don't agree with everything he had to say it was a fair appraisal.

I was speaking to my future son in law today and he mentioned something which hit home today. He said that a lot of the German Jugend think 'Fuck those arrogant English (note the lack of UK, just English) cunts, we don't need them.'

Living over here I find the majority of Germans ironically Liberal as they have lived through many years of guilt. They seem to have learned that mistakes in the past should not be repeated. Many in the UK forget about past misdemeanours and want to return to the dark days, they revel in thw wars and fully believe they won all the major wars despite the efforts and help of many other nations, thick fucking cunts.

To those who seem to believe the eu is like the Von trapp family in the sound of music, singing songs on the mountain tops of europe to keep us safe in our beds, here's a clip of the eu's smarmy arrogance to a valid question on Catalonia from a few days ago. I posted it in the craig murray link further up the page.
